The Summerhouse, Battle, East Sussex-nr. Hastings

A secluded and cozy retreat, the Summerhouse is a charming wooden cabin nestled amongst 2 acres of rural land on Mill Farm in Battle, near Hastings, 1066 country. The perfect location for accessing beaches, fishing, horse riding, country walks, kayaking and castles! A great family getaway, just 1hr 16mins from London by train, we are just a 5 minute drive from Battle Station. Back to nature, with creature comforts including your own hot shower and king-size bed! The space Well-equipped with creature comforts including hot running water & shower, a superking-size bed and 2 single beds (day bed and trundle bed, suitable for either children or adults, can be put together to make a double), dining table & chairs for 4, kitchen with electric hob and oven, washing machine, fridge/freezer, kettle & toaster, outdoor firepit/bbq & outdoor furniture for alfresco dining. The Summerhouse is the only cabin in the field so you will have the place to yourself! No need to bring the clutter! The kitchen is fully equipped with pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils (including wine glasses and cafetiere). For your convenience, if you have little ones, we also provide plastic cups/plates and cutlery (plus a few games & books). Cooking outside? We provide a firepit, bbq grill, tongs & picnic chairs; you can also eat alfresco on the veranda dining table, whatever the weather, sipping your coffee whilst listening to the birds in the morning or enjoying a glass of wine whilst gazing at the stars! After a long day, you'll be glad for a hot shower (you have your own bathroom) and a decent night's sleep in a luxurious superking-size bed. Duvet, pillows, fresh linen and towels are all provided for 4 people (the day bed is in the living area with the trundle bed underneath). If the weather is a bit on the cold side, there are heaters inside the summerhouse to keep things cozy. Pets One pet is allowed. Food and water bowls are provided, and a dog towel for wiping muddy paws. Please bring your dog's own bed. Guests are responsible for the safety of their own pet in the field and for ensuring it does not harm or disturb other animals/wildlife. Please be aware there is no gate on the entrance to the field. The Surrounding Area/Things to do The historic Battle Abbey a 6 minute drive away, with teashops in Battle High Street and a pub dating back to the 15th century! Hastings beach and the Norman fortress of Hastings Castle easily accessible, 20 minutes by car. Lots of things to do in the area, including paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking at Bodiam (12 mins by car) and Bodiam Castle. Wonderful walks in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including Battle Great Woods, a 5 minute drive away. The beaches of Bexhill-on-Sea and St. Leonards also a short drive away. Proximity to fishing and horseriding too.
