Home in Merida
Description
You'll be just a short stroll to Merida's most famous parks, Mejorada, Santa Lucia, Rosado and less than a 10 minutes walk to the Plaza Grande and it's 500 year-old cathedral. You will have a wonderful chef's kitchen to prepare meals of your liking and a dipping pool to rinse off the afternoon heat that Merida is so famous for. The space The Safehouse features two ensuite bedrooms upstairs with King beds and a convertible sofa in the living room for your extra guest. Bedrooms and living areas are airconditioned for your comfort. The stairwell conceals a full washer and dryer, as well as a restroom accessible to the backyard and pool. Legend has it that in late 1923 shortly before his demise, the legendary Pancho Villa traveled to Merida Yucatán in search of a safe place to wait out the rumors of the high price on his head. Having many friends in the military and police forces Pancho chose a home not one block from the downtown police station. A simple home but with all the comforts he required he set up his “Safe House”. Pancho returned to the state of Chihuahua for his wife, where he was ambushed. Pancho never got the chance to come back for the treasure he left behind. Now this story has never been confirmed, but our safe house still has the hundred-year-old safe and we don’t have the combination. If you happen to open it, you may score your share of Pancho's treasure. Welcome to The Safe House Merida, Centro! Guest access Uber, other rideshares and taxis are readily available but walking to nearby attractions is as easy as pie. If you have a car and need parking several lots are 2 minutes away.
