There is a double bed that can accommodate 1-2 people. The second room is sometimes rented out as well. Business unsettled abroad? Just use our WiFi all over the flat where Jerusalem spreads out in front of you. Beautifully renovated, spacious, Italian furniture, plush carpets, the best American natural fabrics, upholstery, bed and bath linens, and the highest quality brand-new, wide orthopedic beds will make your stay here both comfortable as well as an unforgettable experience. There is a fully equipped kitchen with the best cookware and gadgets, where you can experiment with the variety of spices and foods at the Machane Yehuda market! Come recline on our wide soft chaise lounge watching movies on your tablet via our WiFi or reading a book from our large library while watching the beautiful sunset. The cabinets are always prepared with quality teas and coffees, sugar and sweetener for our guests. Parking is FREE and is available under the building. Shopping? Choose between the 3 supermarkets located just around the corner! Synagogues? So many all around home! My guests are always invited to a large variety of teas, regular and flavored coffee and any other hot beverages from the pantry, home-baked pastries as well as for a fun and stimulating conversation! :-) ALL ON THE HOUSE!!! Need advice on coolest hang-outs? restaurants? theater? events in the city? Just ask me! My recommendations are right on target for all my guests!! ***** Please note that on Shabbat and holidays, public transportation ceases from about 2 hours before sundown on Friday or the eve of a holiday until about 1.5 hours after sundown on Saturday night or after the holiday. Taxis are still available (aside for on Yom Kippur - the Day of Atonement, once yearly). Walking and strolling around the streets on these days is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the city and its vibe, as all sorts and types of people in the city will be walking out and about. This once-weekly stop of hustle&bustle will expose visitors to the city's and to the people's inner essence, the essence that has contributed to make Jerusalem the unique and exquisite city it has become over generations. *** PLEASE NOTE!!! IMPORTANT REGARDING HEATING AND COOLING!! *** There is an air-conditioning unit in the central area of the apartment - one space with a living room/ dining room/ kitchen For cooling in summer: The apartment has 3 directions of air with a cross-breeze. The main area, which includes the kitchen/ dining/ living room faces an open view to the West with a balcony off the living room. Additional light and breeze enters from the multiple windows and doors along the Northern wall. The bathrooms facing the Southern side also open to a porch with large windows for additional air and light. The bedroom listed here has 1 large window facing the view to the West, enabling air entry from 2 directions. As the apartment is situated on a hill facing an open view, there is a good breeze throughout most of the day and at night too. Most former guests preferred no cooling unit at all and prefer to close windows at night. For guests who require additional cooling in addition to the cool summer night breeze - PLEASE NOTE!!!! The bedrooms do NOT have an air conditioner. There is a large portable industrial- size floor-standing fan that is used in the rooms for cooling. For those who request, two large fans can be provided for the bedroom as well. It is also possible to turn on the main AC unit in the living room and keep the bedroom door open while closing all windows in order to direct inflow of colder air into the bedroom. For heating in winter : For the main shared areas in the apartment - the AC unit can be used. There is a high quality heavy-duty oil-based portable standing electric radiator in each bedroom and in the living room which can be placed on a variety of settings for heating the rooms. It is best to ensure heating efficiency by closing all windows and doors while the heating units are in use. PLEASE NOTE!!! Luggage drop-off allowed - only with prior arrangements with me! Luggage can be left outside the front door. Guest access You are welcome to use the dining room, living room, kitchen, toilets, balcony and anywhere you need in the house! Guests are provided with a key to the roof - a place to recline, read a book, and enjoy the view of Jerusalem spreading out before their eyes! Shabbat? Not a problem. All electrical sockets have a Shabbat timer, including the A/C. There is an American size Shabbat urn, hot plate available for your use. Please note: Normally, There is a washer but no dryer in the apartment. Please do not use the washer unless personally shown how to by the host. Often, laundry can be done in the apartment for you. For dry cleaning or same day service - there is a good local laundromat that does free pick-up and same-day delivery, whose services are available for an additional fee, based upon the size of your load. During your stay Normally, I am in the other bedroom when it is not rented out, unless I am away. When both rooms are rented out, I am either away or I use the couch late at night. Guests are provided with 100% privacy during their stay. I am always available on my phone or email for my guests. Socializing with guests is solely as per the request of the guest. Need to get around? Just use my easy-to-follow maps of the roads, bus times and short-cuts to main attractions that don't show up on G-Maps! ;-) PLEASE NOTE!!! Luggage drop-off allowed - only with prior arrangements with me! Luggage can be left outside the door. *** Early check-in is possible sometimes, and must be arranged at least 2 days in advance in order to ensure coordinated logistics. If this is important to you, please inquire prior to booking. *** Other things to note **NOTE** *** check in time: only after 5PM on weekdays. Please discuss arrival time with me to ensure that you will arrive only when there is someone to let you in and show you around. I do not leave the key under the doormat for safety reasons. *** check out time: by 11 AM PLEASE NOTE: Any stay after 11AM will incur an additional charge as the room will not be properly prepared on time for the next guest, unless discussed with me in advance. ** REGARDING CLEANING: My home is kept at the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene. The kitchen, toilets, faucets and tub are bleached daily, the house is cleaned every 2 days, laundry services are offered once weekly, included in these fees. As such, for stays of 4 days and up, there are additional cleaning fees that are added to the regular 3-day AirBNB cleaning fee. At your convenience, you can choose to not include this fee online and instead leave the DIFFERENCE for the cleaners at the house upon arrival. *** 1-3 days: $75 USD for 1 person, $90 USD for 2 people. 4-7 days: $90 USD for 1 person, $115 USD for 2 people. 8 days and up: $90 USD per week or part thereof for 1 person, $115 USD per week or part thereof for 2 people in 1 room. There are NO EXTRA HIDDEN FEES OR EXPENSES. Literally ALL amenities, utilities, etc are covered by the cost. All bath and cleaning amenities are provided (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, detergent, wet wipes etc), even toothpaste! All you need to do is come with your clothes! Note that kitchen is kosher. All types of kosher dairy and vegetarian cooking are available. Beef and chicken cannot be cooked in kitchen, nor can it be warmed up, even if kosher. Only ready-to-eat kosher chicken/ beef (from one of nearby take-out places or kosher restaurants) can be eaten in the house. This can be eaten on plasticware only. Plastic plates and cutlery are always provided for guests in the house. Non-kosher food cannot be cooked nor brought into the house at any time. Only stove-top cooking is available. The oven is OFF-LIMITS at ALL TIMES. Microwave is available for use by guests at anytime for dairy and/or vegetarian food. Vegetarians welcome! :-) Please note that there are 2 toilets and 1 bathtub. There is a washer but no dryer. Please do not use the washer unless personally shown how to by the host. There is a good local laundromat that does free pick-up and same-day delivery, whose services are available for an additional fee, based upon the size of your load.
