Relax and revive in our well-appointed, newly renovated Charlestown beach home. Bright, beachy rooms and outdoor space set the vibe for kicking back in our clean & updated home with 5 beds and 2 full baths. Within 5 minutes of Charlestown beaches and 10 minutes to 3 other area beaches, finding time by the ocean will be easy. The neighborhood is quiet and virtually traffic-free. Enjoy the quaint, rural beach community of Charlestown, close enough to everything yet still away from it all. The space We are serious about comfort and aesthetics in our beach home as clean, comfortable furnishings and amenities with attention to detail await you indoors. 2 entry level beach vibe bedrooms (1 King, 2 twins) with comfy beds and a renovated full bathroom will ensure your comfort. Adorable living room with art from a local Watch Hill artist abound, and additional basement lounge area give you space to spread out and play games, read or watch a movie. There are two full sized beds in the newly renovated basement along with a beautiful new full bath and laundry. For safety, we recommend that people over age 12 occupy the basement space. We ask that you bring your own sheets, beach towels and extra blankets if needed. Mattress pads, bedspreads/quilts and pillows with pillow protectors are provided along with bath towels. (Sheets can be provided for an additional cleaner’s fee…please inquire.) Cleaning and disinfecting is done between each stay. As our home is designed for our family’s use, it is not highly trafficked by frequent guests, keeping it for clean & maintained for those who visit. We ask our guests to be considerate of our home. Each year, we keep renovating to make the indoor and outdoor spaces better for everyone who enjoys our home. Sit on the new extra-large back deck sipping your coffee or enjoying an evening cocktail, surrounded by trees, listening to the birds. The size of the deck allows for plenty of dining and relaxing space for extending your time outdoors. Play games or enjoy an outdoor shower in the backyard. A private association beach is a short drive away with picnic areas. Kayak rentals also available at Narragansett kayaks for a picturesque paddle. Charlestown Town beach and Charlestown Breachway State beach are both within a 5 minute drive and Green Hill beach, Moonstone Beach, South Kingstown Town beach, Matunuck State Beach and Ninigret Park are all 10 minutes away. Narragansett’s many area beaches can be reached in 15 minutes. The Area Charlestown offers quaint produce stands, a local bakery/coffee shop, sandwich shop, ice cream, boutiques and the Mini-super offering a great deli, butcher, fresh seafood and baked goods. Stop at Jitters Cafe for great morning coffee and egg sandos, wraps and fresh pastries or the awesome blueberry muffins at the Beach Rose across the street. Enjoy the “Breachway Grill” , the Cove, or the newly renovated General Stanton Inn for dining or take a short ride to the incredible “Matunuck Oyster Bar”. For more casual sea fare, visit “No-Bar” seafood stand on the pond by the beach. Don’t miss the lobster fries!! Or head to the Charlestown Rathskeller for drinks, live music, pub fare & cornhole. Each Friday enjoy the Charlestown Farmers Market and each Sunday the General’s Flea Market at the newly re-opened General Stanton’s Tavern built in the 1700’s. For shopping, head to Shop the Barn or to Simple Pleasures for incredible finds. The Charlestown Umbrella Factory is a registered landmark and houses several shops including a general store, a candy shop, block print graphics, candles, clothing, pottery, stained glass, blown glass, gardening & plants wampum, emus, & chickens & and botanical garden! If you want more action, you can drive to many nearby attractions: Beautiful high end Watch Hill with it’s turn of the century carousel and many boutiques and the beautiful Ocean House resort and downtown Westerly (many restaurants and shops) are 15 minutes away. Narragansett, with its many eateries, beautiful views and it’s famous “Towers”, surfers beaches and The Coast Guard House restaurant is 15 minutes away. Visit Quaint Wakefield with eateries and shopping, Thursday night “Water fire” and Brickley’s ice cream (not to be missed!) Matunuck’s state beach, Oyster Bar and world famous Ocean Mist beach bar are a 10 minute drive. Get to the restaurants and mansions of Newport or quaint Mystic, CT with Mystic Aquarium and seaport in 30 minutes. Federal Hill & its famous Italian fare in Providence is about 50 minutes north. We have been vacationing in RI for many years and we are happy to share local and regional recommendations with you for groups of all ages. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house and yard with exception of two “owners closets” and the shed. Other things to note Please note that our home is on a septic system and careful attention is needed to what goes down the drain. Please NO items other than natural waste and septic safe toilet paper (we provide rolls in each bathroom) in the toilets and nothing down the drains except soap and water. Bleach, hair, sand, food, grease, coffee grounds and any other objects including “flushable items” are damaging to the septic system and will cause a back up with an interruption to your stay and possible additional cost. Please use the outdoor shower or hose to rinse off sandy feet or sandy bodies from the beach. The driveway has room for 2 cars. Should you bring more, please park on street in front of the hedgerow. Please adhere to our maximum guest policy and please no other guests in addition to the ones listed in your reservation. Even if there is a last minute change in bringing an extra guest, we appreciate the heads up. Please list guests names in your reservation request. We are definitely not a party house and we ask guests to party elsewhere with larger groups. We prefer to have interaction with our guests (in this increasingly impersonal world), as you’re staying in our home. We may try to reach you by phone to connect and we greatly appreciate your responses to our messages. We will never be intrusive. We also welcome you to contact us as needed and we always do our best to respond quickly. We want you to have a most enjoyable stay and make yourselves at home.
