There are 3 VERY friendly dogs in the house. Please do not consider this listing unless you like dogs. Also, the host requests all guests over age 12 have current COVID vaccination. The house is large enough for groups to hold meetings, receptions, or workshops. But it's also a home, with plenty of small spaces for writers and artists to work undisturbed. There are large lawns, a stream, a pond, and kids' play equipment. Your host is flexible! Guests have ranged in age from 6 months to 90 years! Living room. Kitchen. Dining room seats 8-10. Additional tables for dining can accommodate another 24 people. Sun porch, deck, and gardens are all available. Barbecue is available in summer and fall. Guests are allowed privacy but your host works from the home and is almost always available for any requests or questions. There's an orchard less than a mile away, with pick-your-own blueberries and apples, lots of activities for kids, and a great cafe for breakfast and lunch. Hiking trails are nearby on Black Mountain and a short drive to the White Mountains and Appalachian Trail. There are working farms close by, too, and wildlife are often seen on the property and in the neighborhood. Dartmouth and the DHMC hospital are both less than an hour away. The Connecticut River is close, and it's great for fishing and boating. A kayak is available for guests' use.
