Description
A beautiful little simple cozy cabin build in 1913, no doubt a back in time experience of a real Norwegian cabin, with room for 7, including 3 small kids. More like glamping with modern touches. The cabin is 5 min drive to Hommersåk docks where you can take a small ferry to Stavanger daily. Close to ( 2 h) hike Vårlivarden where you can get an amazing views over Rogaland, amongst many other hikes Kjerag, Preikestolen and Lysefjord etc..great climbing spots, lovely island hopping. The space The space The small cabin has electricity, Room for 7 including 2 comfortable double sofa beds and 3 beds for childrenor shorter people. There is also a lot of garden space to set 3-4 tents. Outdoor, Hikers, Mountain people, climbers, kids and animals love staying there maybe because it’s a real cabin, it feels like your back in time in a fairytale. There is a small kitchen, access to bbq, a newer fridge, (no freezer), old stove with oven, works well, a small microwave, natural rain water system works if there are few people. We will leave liters of drinking water in containers for you, there is no plumbing, there is a solar shower that can be filled up and used, if not there is a spring and ocean to bathe in not far from the cabin. Note this is a place to be more connected to nature for sure.. but definitely worth the stay. True Eco experience. The livingroom area has an efficient fan heater with a fireplace, there is a full wood shack and we can supply wood if needed for an ekstra price, there us a open fireplace outside with a nice sitting area when the weather allows it. The Cabin is surrounded by oak trees (symbol of good luck and peace), giving a very peaceful being away feeling. Rich in nature. The oak tree forrest is amongst the few left in Norway. A great selection of blueberries, mushrooms could be found late summer and fall. Guest access The Cabin is very close to the Bersagel (Approx Bersagelveien 199), a country road, the parking is behind a gate, right below the cabin, all you need is to walk through a gate up some stairs to get to the cabin. We will explain in more detail but it is fairly simple. When getting to Hommersåk after passing a white church on your left and a city pond on your right, pass some complex with shops on right, Bersagel ( Bersageleien) Is on your right, head up that road passing another more midern church on left and a graveyard to right. Keep on Bersagelveien. ( if your in the center and pass KiWI & local shopping Center you have gone too far) Stay on the road about 1 km. Pass road the goes up to øvre Hetland, then the road curves past two houses, one house with white workshop on right.. Oak forrest only on right side for about 40 meter. The cabin is on right side. Entrance is by a 50 zone sign. Number 199 shows on the gate... Lift the gate to open, there is a hook to keep it shut while parked, please keep it shut. I can send the more accurate map when contact me directly. Other things to note The cabin can be used year around. Hence of course the winter will be colder but it could be a good place to stay 2 hours from the ski areas or a weekend stop on a roadtrip. The heating is good as well. The oceans and fjords views in the area are breathtaking. A perfect get-away. Animals are welcome in the space, we have a dog that spends time in the space with us. So if your allergic not so much a good idea. Note it is a over 100 year cabin so old wood and furniture should be expected, it is very clean though. The nature has its ways around it. If your a clean freak or paranoid of forest germs or mushrooms, this cabin is not for you. The sofabeds are fairly new, also the sheets and duvets/pillows, we do wash them frequently. We steamclean everything often. We grew up using this cabin as kids, see it as a perfect close to nature immunity booster for us, with all the healing moss, fresh air, amazing blueberries, mushrooms, fish, & even seaweed in the spring . Outdoor types are a better match but its a adventure into the past if you are not. A worldly, well traveled Norwegian. Adore friendly happy people, nature lovers& want to learn. Thrive for the little more extreme outdoor lifestyle, hiking, climbing surfing, snowboarding, skiing, camping and cabin life. Fishing is also good around the coast. Love it quiet and a little privacy. Know a lot about the places to hike in Rogaland and the town is short ferry away.. If I am available I can be hired as a tour and mountain guide. Love animals have a dog...ps smoking a big no no, also during dry times.
