This delightful detached holiday property was once the station master’s house at Tal-y-Cafn station, which is still open as a request stop on the branch line to Blaenau Ffestiniog. There are 6 trains each way per day on this line and trains call at the station between 5.30am and 9.15pm. Sleeping four people it makes a great base for exploring the area where you can catch the train to Llandudno, Betws-y-Coed or Blaenau Ffestiniog. There’s a gastro pub just 50 yards away serving delicious Welsh produce, and the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre is within walking distance with a café, restaurant and farm shop which is well worth a visit. The famous Bodnant Garden (National Trust) is just a little further away and has 80 acres of stunning gardens to explore, together with the plant centre and craft units. Guests can watch surfers whilst enjoying a coffee nearby at the incredible Surf Snowdonia at Dolgarrog. The Victorian resort of Llandudno offers a great selection of shops, the Venue Cymru theatre, fantastic beaches, the Great Orme headland with Bronze Age copper mines, the UK’s only cable operated tramway and the UK’s longest cable car ride, together with fantastic views. You can walk the town walls at historic Conwy, imagine yourself capturing Conwy Castle (a World Heritage Site), or stroll along the quay. At Betws-y-Coed adrenaline junkies can try Zip World Fforest with the amazing Fforest Coaster, or you can take a walk in the leafy Gwydir Forest Park. At the end of the line at Blaenau Ffestiniog you can either catch a Ffestiniog Railway steam train on the spectacular journey to the coast at Porthmadog, or visit Bounce Below, where you can bounce away come rain or shine on trampoline nets deep inside an old slate mine.
