Enjoy the best of Brownstone Brooklyn in our historic limestone townhouse, built in 1897! This space with private entrance is located on the light-filled third floor of our owner-occupied home and outfitted with vintage and modern furnishings. The space Our home is located in the Stuyvesant Heights section of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, just outside a landmarked district. A large, bright, 1 br apartment located in one of NYC’s most culturally rich neighborhoods. A short walk from the express train (25 min to downtown Manhattan) and close to several Citi Bike stations. Enjoy destination restaurants (cuisines include Italian, French, Haitian, Japanese, soul food), bars and coffee while enjoying a gorgeous historic neighborhood. Enjoy a queen bed and an inflatable mattress upon request, for a maximum capacity of 4 adults. A separate dining room with a skylight offers ample space to enjoy a meal and cocktails. The living room features a Smart TV (log in to your Prime, Netflix and Hulu accounts!), reading nook, comfy sofa and a desk if a work station is needed. High speed wifi. A/C, plush towels, a fully-appointed kitchen, compact washer/dryer, tub/shower are all available to make your stay comfortable. We also provide shampoo, soap, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent and a coffee maker (with Brooklyn-roasted coffee!). The third floor apartment is light-filled and generally quiet. In the summer months, you may hear outdoor noise from a nearby block party or backyard BBQ - these celebrations on our streets and back yards are part of our vibrant local culture and one of the things that make our neighborhood special. We do use one small room (separated by locked doors) on the third floor as a remote office, and have some some soundproofing. We also live downstairs with our two energetic sons, two cats and a dog, so there will be some family noise. A white noise machine and earplugs are provided in the apartment. This is a family-friendly apartment. A pack and play crib, toddler dishes and silverware, and toys are available for babies and toddlers upon request. Guest access The apartment features keyless code entry for a seamless stay. We live in the building and are usually available to provide information about the apartment and neighborhood. Free street parking is usually not too hard to find, but note the signs for street cleaning. Other things to note Bedford-Stuyvesant has a rich cultural history, a dedication to social justice and some of NYC’s most breathtaking brownstone-lined streets. It is currently one of the hottest neighborhoods in NYC (it was also recently named the fourth coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out!), and offers a wide variety of dining and nightlife options, plus plenty of tree-lined streets, parks and playgrounds. This apartment, on one of the best blocks in Bedford-Stuyvesant, is large, bright and comfortable. It offers express train and bike share access, is walking distance from several excellent restaurants and is a short drive or train/bus/bike ride from Brooklyn’s best cultural institutions (Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Prospect Park).
