The Elizabethan style house and studio are heritage listed and sit in an acre of garden, providing the perfect setting for a remarkable country experience, only a short walk to town. Treat yourself and book a stay, the encounter will linger long after you return home. The space The self-contained, studio-style building at be&be is part of a heritage-listed property. Inside furnishings combine mid-century elegance with seventies funk, to bring freshness and character to the historically laden, hundred-and-fifty-year-old dwelling. Outside european trees, bonsaied by the harsh conditions on the hill, sit amongst a crop of hundred year old gums. Rock beds and structural succulents combine with these elements to make the garden a unique and wonderful place to visit. Guest access For the first hour of your stay you are welcome to explore the entire garden. After which the area directly around the studio building and the South and West courtyards outside the Studio building are for be&be guests. Every alternate weekend there may be children in the garden at times but not in the courtyards allocated to be&be guests. Other things to note The town of Castlemaine is full of Gold Rush era architecture, which houses a vibrant café and arts culture. Daylesford is a picturesque 25 minutes away and Maldon, Newstead, Guilford, Vaughn Springs and other historic towns are also close by.
