Our “Hood Hideaway” has great views of the Hood Canal and Olympic mountains. You’ll love our cabin because of the outdoors space, waterfront and old growth trees. All the benefits of nature without having to give up the comforts of home. Our place is good for families (with kids). “Hood Hideaway” is a place to get away from it all. The cabin is nestled in the trees on an acre with stairs and short trail to your own private beach and 100 feet of Hood Canal Waterfront. We don't have TV, but have lots of games, puzzles, large assorted CD collection and WiFi for your convenience. We set the cabin up as a retreat from the bustle. It is a perfect spot to enjoy long walks on the beach, swimming in the summer, fishing, collecting shells and harvesting oysters. Even on rainy days we enjoy playing cards, board games, or cozying up with a good book. Guests have access to the entire cabin, private beach, oysters, BBQ grill, fire pit, beach and camp fire chairs. The cabin is well stocked with all towels, linens, coffee, tea, sugar, spices, many condiments, and full kitchen for cooking. Bring food for entire stay since the nearest full grocery store is 40 min away. Don't forget your fishing rod and license, and wood for a bon fire. We have two single person kayak available for additional rental fee, or bring your own water toys to enjoy. I’m two hours away, but can be reached by text or phone. You are in the woods (it's a cabin). The pristine nature is what drew us to this spot. We have only a couple neighbors but you can look north and walk along the beach at low tide for miles without seeing any development. It's perfect for someone who wants to get away from it all, right in the midst of old growth cedar trees, and spectacular views. No public transportation. We are located 1.5 miles down well maintained gravel road. You need a car, a 4 wheel or all wheel drive is even better. We don't actually have one and haven't got stuck yet, but the driveway is gravel and steep- so you may feel more comfortable if you do. It's 40 min to town. Cell service can still be a tad spotty but has been getting much better. 6 Adults max. The cabin can accommodate up to 8 total guests, but is best situated for 4 adults and 4 children with a max of 6 adults. Four wheel drive vehicle recommended.
