Willow Yurt @ Blackdown Yurts

Willow is an authentic Mongolian yurt that sleeps four in one double and two small single beds. It is part of a yurt village of four yurts in Devon's beautiful Blackdown Hills, that collectively sleep a total of 22. Close to the M5 at Cullompton and the A30 at Honiton, ideally placed for a short break away whatever the weather. Our communal barn has all mod cons, plus sofa seating and a lovely wood burner in case the weather is chilly. Each yurt also has its own little wood burner and fire pit. The space Blackdown Yurts is an award-winning Glamping site located in a hidden valley in the rural Blackdown Hills of Devon. In total it has four authentic Mongolian yurts which sleep a total of 22 set in a spacious field with communal barn with living, dining, cooking and showering facilities. The site won Bronze in the Glamping category of the 2019 Devon Tourism Awards and was commended in the 2019 SouthWest Tourism Awards. Guest access Willow has its own camp kitchen with gas oven and rings and its own a compost toilet and urinal. It also has access to the communal barn where you will find fridges, kettle, microwave, toaster and hot water for washing up. Hot showers and flushing toilets are located here too. Other things to note We operate a two night minimum stay during off peak periods. During the summer holidays (19th July to 30th August 2019) we prefer to Monday and Friday changeovers however we are more flexible if there is availability at short notice. Our postcode (EX15 2HW) does not work on lots of satnavs but Blackdown Yurts shown in the right place on the map. Please note that AirBNB doesn't recognise our correct address because we do not have a road name nor a house number. The correct address is Blackdown Yurts, Blackborough, Cullompton EX15 2HW. Please be warned that many satnavs do not direct you to the correct place when using the postcode but you should pick up our signs when you get close. We do however show in the correct place on google maps. We recommend you do not use satnav and instead follow our directions below. Directions From M5 • Leave the M5 at Junction 28 and follow the signs to Honiton along the A373 (left if travelling south on the M5 or right and around the roundabout if travelling north). • Continue along the A373 for approximately 1 mile and turn left at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted left to Kentisbeare & Blackborough. • Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare. • In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndam Arms) on your left. • Continue through the village and out the other side. • The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn. Take the right turn. • Continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads. • Turn left at the crossroads. • After 150yds Take the next right hand turning. • Follow this up and then down the hill and after 300 yds you will reach a farm on your left and the driveway for Blackdown Yurts on your right. Directions from A303 • Leave the A303 at Honiton and drive along the High Street through the town. • As you pass the Job Centre on your left the road splits into two lanes. Take the right hand lane at the lights and turn right signposted for the Magistrates court. • You are now on the A373 to Cullompton. • Follow this road for approximatley 6 miles. • Just after the village of Dulford you will pass the Keepers Cottage Pub on your left hand side. • Take the next turning on your right at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted left to Kentisbeare & Blackborough. • Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare. • In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndam Arms) on your left. • Continue through the village and out the other side. • The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn. If you get lost: If you ignore our warning and use satnav you may arrive at All Hallows Farm. To find us from All Hallows the best landmark to start from is the rugby post. If you are facing down the hill with the rugby post on your right keep going down the hill past All Hallows Farmhouse, road will bear left, then straight, then left again, then sharp right bend. Soon after you will reach a scruffy looking farmhouse on your right and the turning to Blackdown Yurts immediately opposite on the left. To find your way to the A373 from here turn left out of the yurts, follow the lane round to the left then right and you will reach a T junction. Turn left, take first right signed Pirzwell and you will come into Kentisbeare village. Turn left at the post office in front of the pub and you will eventually reach the A373.
