Private garden with cycle shed. ♡ Continental breakfast provided ♡ The space The train carriage is situated at the back of a 1914 restored railway cottage which previous life was in The Karangahake Gorge (relocated to Paeroa township when the mining ceased). Likewise, when the guard's van was decommissioned from NZ railway it was restored to boutique tourist accommodation. Enter through the black iron gate and follow the railway track to your train carriage accommodation. The train deck is just the ticket to relax over coffee or sink into one of the garden lounging chairs and just chill out. Perfect to devour a book or quite frankly fall asleep in the sun. The perfect getaway to unwind, relax and watch net-flicks over a bottle of local wine. The kitchenette provides a microwave and fridge. Local takeaways can be ordered in. Breakfast cereals are in the pantry. There's also a selection of teas, coffee and biscuits for you to enjoy. Complimentary breakfast box for two is in the fridge. ♡ Make this your base for the Hauraki Rail Trail and the Coromandel. You can stroll to town when you are ready to explore the antique shops and check out the cafes and restaurants. The River Walk Stretch your legs after your journey with a 10 min walk along the Ohinemuri river. This is also the start to The Hauraki Rail Trail (right opposite your accommodation). Walk along the river, then do a loop back through town. Please note if bringing an EV. Charging is available in Marshall Street (close by). Please visit the Caltex service station on the main road first to pay. Alternately, if you let me know in advance I can arrange overnight charging in the street. Guest access Private, flat wide entrance at the side of a 1914 railway cottage. Open the gate and follow the tracks which leads you to your train carriage in it's own private secluded setting. There is a couple of wide steps (timber) to get into the train carriage. They are not steep but this accommodation would not be suitable for wheel chair access. Other things to note PAEROA is the perfect launch pad for exploring the scenic Coromandel and surrounding areas. Famous for the Hauraki Rail Trail and Karangahake Gorge which is right on your doorstep. Just one and a half hours scenic drive from Auckland. One hour from Tauranga and Hamilton. Paeroa is well known for it's vintage and antique shops, boutique cafes and eateries and of course the Lemon and Paeroa drink (L&P). The famous Karangahake Gorge and Historic Walkway is just a 5 min drive. The walkway follows the old railway line between Paeroa and Waihi. Opposite your Airbnb is the Onehinmuri river walk. Paeroa is very close to towns of interest like Thames and Waihi (mining towns) and Te-Aroha (historic spa town). There is a heated public swimming pool and gym one min walk from your Airbnb. Great for a swim after a day of rail trailing. Paeroa has an amazing golf course that locals try to keep a secret. If you play golf - you will love it ♡ Paeroa has so much to offer and is the perfect base to kick off your holiday adventure.
