Description

Located in Bungalow, which is approximately 2 kilometres from the City is this lovely two bedroom renovated apartment on the first floor up. The space THE COMPLEX Located on Buchan Street is this lovely, first floor, two-bedroom apartment. There are seven units in this complex and over the years we have upgraded and renovated throughout, meaning the units present well. We are offering good quality accommodation at a budget price. Inside we have tried to make it as nice as possible for our guests and provide nice extras. THE APARTMENT The property comes self-contained and the entire apartment is for you to use during your stay - you do not share with anyone else. As this unit is on the first floor, we would prefer groups with children to be on the ground floor units. There is near new furniture and good quality mattresses for budget accommodation. This property has two bedrooms, both with a queen sized bed. Both bedrooms are air conditioned and have windows and ceiling fans. There is a single day bed with a good mattress in the living area so the apartment can sleep up to five guests. We provide good quality linen to the beds, a quilt cover and pillows to all beds. There will be a towel for each paying guest provided, as well as hand towels. * Please note, we DO NOT provide blankets to the beds as keeping cool is our issue here in the tropics! We also DO NOT provide beach towels for guests. The bathroom has a shower and bath, lots of storage and a separate toilet. The bathroom separates the bedrooms. There is a television so you can watch all the free to air channels as well as unlimited internet. Please be aware we are still considered a rural area and the internet speed may not be quite as high speed as other areas around the world! WiFi details will be sent through with the self check in information. There is a large fridge and freezer for you to use, a full cooking facility as well as a microwave. The unit does come with a washing machine, but no dryer. There are plenty of washing lines to the rear of the property for you to use as well as a clothes horse. Items will dry quickly under a ceiling fan. We do not list an iron as an amenity provided for this apartment. To make your stay a little bit nicer, we do provide some extras. In the bathroom there is shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand wash. We provide the essentials like laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, aluminium foil, salt and pepper, oil. In the fridge you will find other basics such as tomato sauce, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, butter, jam, peanut butter and of course VEGEMITE!! Best of all we also leave you a packet of our famous Australian Tim Tam chocolate biscuits. There is a small, private balcony area for the apartment for you to use. You may smoke on the balcony with the doors shut but smoking is prohibited inside the apartment. We have put lots of photos on so you can see the property internally and externally. Due to ongoing issues, we no longer provide irons in our apartments and have not checked this as an amenity on our listing. PARKING If you have a car, there is plenty of street parking at the front of the complex. There are a few covered spaces onsite as well which are first come, first served. KEEPING COOL IN CAIRNS We do live in the wet tropics and being hot and humid is part of daily life. Our winters are cooler, but during the day they are still warm enough to wear shorts and a t shirt. In the property you will find ceiling fans in the living area as well as the bedrooms. There is air conditioning in the unit for you to use during your stay. There are new split system air conditioners which are serviced and cleaned regularly. If you have this set at 25 degrees, this will keep the bedrooms cool but still be efficient. Part of offering affordable accommodation is asking our guests to turn all the air conditioner OFF when they aren’t home. There is no issue with using the air conditioners when at home. PET FRIENDLY – WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? One of the reasons we started doing Airbnb is because of the lack of pet friendly accommodation. We have two small dogs and we love to travel with them. The definition of pet friendly varies – for us it means they can come inside, and they can be part of your holiday. We do have rules in place for people travelling with a pet – and a pet needs to be approved to stay, so please ensure you contact us about this PRIOR to booking. There is no exclusive courtyard or outside area for this apartment, however there are lots of green areas and parks close by. SEE YOU SOON? We hope we have provided enough information for your stay. If you have any questions at all prior to booking, please just send us a message. Guest access You will have access to the entire apartment during your stay and all the facilities. Only the external arrears are shared. There is free, covered parking onsite which is first come, first served - as well as free street parking. We do not meet onsite and provide self check in details the morning of arrival so guests can come and go at their leisure. However we are not far away if guests need anything during their stay. +AS WE ARE JUST AN APARTMENT, WE DO NOT PROVIDE SECURE BAGGAGE STORAGE. Please keep this in mind when booking. Check in time – 2pm Check out time – 10am One of the most important things to us is to provide a really clean property for our guests to stay at. A thorough clean is performed between guests, and to maintain the standard we need to have the check out time at 10am and the check in time as 2pm. Guests are provided with two sets of keys to use during their stay. Other things to note HOUSE RULES & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION +Unlike a hotel environment, we do not provide daily cleaning or housekeeping service. Similarly, we do not top up self-containing items during you stay such as washing powder, toilet rolls etc. We just leave a small selection to get you started. +Towels and bedding are provided for the number of guests booked, so please ensure you inform us on the number of guests staying and configuration required. Infants do count as a guest in our apartments. +STRICTLY NO SMOKING/VAPING inside the units – smoking is permitted outside but please be mindful of other guests sharing the space and close doors/windows to avoid smoke going into the property. Ensure the cigarette ends are extinguished thoroughly and disposed of responsibly. Large fees will be enforced for those smoking inside our apartments for chemical cleaning of walls, curtains, and air conditioners for the comfort of our future guests. +Please turn OFF the air conditioning & lights when you are not at the property. +This is residential complex. We ask our guests to respect the other residents by keeping noise to a minimum after 9pm. Parties and loud music is forbidden and those who don't adhere to this rule will be reported to Airbnb and their stay requested to be cancelled. If there is an issue with another guest/neighbour being too noisy, it is important we are informed immediately. We will do our best to resolve the issue quickly – even if it is late at night. +There is a cleaning fee charged on each booking, which is included in the total before you book. This is to have the apartment cleaned and serviced prior to the next guests, as well as having the linen professionally cleaned. +We do ask our guests to please dispose of all rubbish in the apartment during their stay, including emptying the bins prior to your departure – we provide extra bin liners for guests. All dishes are to be washed, dried and put away. +If there is any maintenance noted, or if an item is accidentally broken, please always feel free to let us know so we can repair or replace it. We are happy to do any maintenance during your stay or add it to the list for when you vacate – whatever you would prefer & depending on the urgency. +Approval for pets is essential before booking so we can send through our pet rules and ensure it is the best property for your stay if you do have a pet. +Guests receive two sets of keys on arrival. Charges up to $300 can be incurred if all keys are not returned at the end of the stay. This is for the security of our future guests as locks may need to be changed. +Crime is on the rise in Cairns, and we request all guests to ensure security screen doors are always locked with a KEY (not just finger latched) during their whole stay. Please ensure you remove items from your cars and ensure you lock up sufficiently to deter opportunistic thieves.
