Airy treetop suite w/balcony, bring soft bags - narrow spiral stairs - pulley is at top if needed). Full-size bed, ceiling & 2 window fans, fridge, FP, microwave, Wifi, Keurig! Wineries & bike trail are close, bike rack for your bikes. Garden shower. Gypsy tent w/seating, themed gardens, fun spot near everything! Happy hour beverages, snacks! Walk to great village restaurants; Farmers Market and bakery are just around the corner. No guns are allowed - a sign is posted. When you arrive you can park in my side lot on the west, not in the side alley by the yellow house or in front. You can walk around the back of that building toward the gypsy tent. You'll see a wood walkway to the back deck. Your spiral staircase is right there! There is a possibility of woodland animal viewing as the rear is a nature area. Please understand, your en-suite shower and the commode are in compartmented nooks and do not provide total privacy from your sleeping area. The outside shower is just off the deck below and there are 2 clean robes in your suite to go back and forth: there are always a few fr eshly fallen leaves in the tub, there is a brush to swish them away. From your deck there is a glass sliding door leading into the adult beverage area. An alcohol-free offering is also available and snacks are complementary. Over 40 wineries and a national park are nearby. You can safely walk at night, streets are tidy, locals are nice and you may even start shopping for a house during your stay - it happens all the time. Your suite door will be unlocked so if you arrive late no problem - there is a light on a motion sensor so you will not be in the dark on the stairs. Key is in your door. The common areas of the house are for all guests who are staying in the house. I mostly stay in the white building (my studio) which adjoins. You'll see me attending to details outside but I am not underfoot - I am open-minded but I ask that you not bring firearms or fireworks. Please arrive with a spirit of fun. Suttons Bay village is quaint and upscale. You can walk to everything from your suite and the house is on 3 wine trails - nearly 30 wineries - all with tasting rooms. Bayside Coffee and Tea, Boone’s Prime Time Pub, Chimoski Bakery, 45th Parallel Cafe and Candy World, Hansen’s Foods, Martha’s Leelanau Table, MI Market, Mundo’s, Murdick’s Fudge Shoppe, North Country Grill and Pub, Streetside Grill, The VI Grill, Wren, Hop Lot Brewing, 9 Bean Rows Bakery and Farm Market are all near. Across the intersection is a landscaped village bayfront park with picnic tables, a nice shelter, grills, and a boat launch. Three blocks away is a public beach with lots of sand and a marina. It is next to our library. Cafes, boutiques, and galleries are all nearby. You are 40 scenic country minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park. Cars are needed. Off-street parking for your car is located on far side of the building by the Firewood for sale stand. Some guests fly into Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City and rent a car. A lot of guests bring bikes; a beautiful bike trail is right across the intersection and bikes may be parked in back in view from your balcony in a rack. If you bring kayaks they can be launched at North Park across the intersection. There are around 40 wineries near Traverse City, primarily on the Leelanau peninsula which is where I am. In terms of location, we're on the same 45th Parallel as European regions like Bordeaux and Piedmont are on the other side of the planet. Grape varieties like cabernet franc and merlot are common. Wine tasting here is a casual affair, and it’s easy to lose track of time tasting, talking, and learning from the people who call our wine region home. A bayfront park is right across the intersection. The beach is across the intersection a couple blocks to your right.
