Description
The Old Barn at Monks Withecombe is 1 mile outside Chagford in the Dartmoor National Park. It has its own private sun trap garden for guests' use + beautiful gardens and meadows with views to Dartmoor. 1 dog allowed = £25 BABIES UNDER ONE YEAR OLD (pre-walking) are welcome. Monks Withecombe is 25 minutes from Exeter off the A30. The Old Barn is across the flower filled courtyard from the main house at Monks. The Gallery is showing paintings by John Virtue, Catherine Forshall and Philip Mount The space Before architect Robert Somerville started to work on the design and layout of the Old Barn he asked lots of questions to find out what really mattered to us. Space. Light. The simple beauty of these granite farm buildings. Natural materials - wood and stone and slate. Underfloor heating (no clanking radiators!) We loved Robert’s design, and hope you will to. Guest access We have nearly 10 acres of meadows and gardens which our guests are very welcome to explore. There is a private lawned area for guests on the west side of The Old Barn - the perfect place for afternoon tea or to watch the sun set over Dartmoor. The fire pit is a special joy as the days get shorter and the evenings get cooler. The large middle courtyard is shared with us - a great place for a sunny lunch or mid morning coffee. Watch the birds in the orchard, or have an afternoon snooze in the dappled shade of the apple trees. Heaven! Other things to note We are happy to take 1 dog. There is a charge of £25.
