Welcome to The African Art House! Here, amongst beautiful African Art, and very close to the beach, your soul will rest and your mind will fly! Throughout the years of owning a contemporary African art gallery, I have bought many great art pieces for my personal collection. Some you will find in your home away from home, which is just a leisurely three-minute stroll away from the white sandy shores of the Indian Ocean! The space The African Art House offers you: -> your private tropical garden with pool and four sun loungers -> large verandah with al fresco dining and cosy sitting area under a sparkling Chrystal chandelier imported from Europe -> comfy living room with smart TV, lots of DVDs, fiber-optic WiFi, varied library in English and German as well as some magazines -> modern kitchen with 4 burner gas cooker & oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and cafetiere --> free housekeeper services twice a week. Extra cleaning services available at a fee of USD10/KSH1000 per half day (4 hours) -> free supplies until finished (refill at your own cost): Coffee, tea, sugar, milk, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, a variety of dried herbs, soap, Cinnabar Green shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, as well as toilet paper -> some snorkeling gear, beach hats, two yoga mats -> gate CCTV as well as a private and secure parking bay --> a state of the art solar system, powering the entire place. You will never experience a black out (very common in Kenya), guaranteeing you peace of mind during your stay .....and all of this is located very close to the beach and local restaurants and bars so you can pop out for that quick beach walk or the drinks forgotten at shopping time. However, the nearest supermarket is also only a 3min car (or 5min by tuk tuk or bike) ride away. Guest access You will enjoy luxurious privacy in your own compound. Other things to note > Price seen is for two guests. To see the final cost of your stay if there are three or four travelers in your group, please enter the exact number when placing your booking. > Outside guests and personnel are strictly forbidden to enter the premises at any time. However, should you expect day guests please clear this with me first. Thank you. > Should any snorkeling or sports gear be damaged, broken, lost or stolen a charge of USD40 per broken item applies. > Any damage or breakage to any contents of the house has to be reported immediately and is charged at purchase price. > Please do not take white hand or shower towels outside of the house. Please use designated beach and pool towels provided. Should any indoor towels be torn or dirty from outside use, a replacement/deep cleaning fee of USD20 per towel applies. > To help the environment please close all windows and keep doors closed while running AC units to allow ambient cooling at minimum electricity consumption. AC's are fitted with timers. > We live in a tropical country with many little animals and insects around. Especially during the dry season, all living creatures are looking for water and might wander in. This does NOT mean the place is dirty or left uncleaned. We provide insect spray for your convenience but would also ask for you to use it sparingly as animals beneficial to our environment will also be killed. Please note no refund will be given as it is simply not possible in a tropical climate to keep the premises completely insect free. Thank you. > While internet connection is provided free of charge, service interruptions are possible. Generally speaking the network is stable, but it can happen that service is interrupted due to maintenance or repair works to the service provider infrastructure. Please report any outage immediately so that I can notify the service provider. Please note that while the internet company will endeavor to rectify any problem reported as soon as possible, no refund will be given as this is entirely out of my hands. Thank you.
