Moreno's Cottages is a small family-owned cabin property nestled in the pines of Ray Brook, NY, located conveniently between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake and just steps from the new Adirondack Rail Trail multi-use corridor! We offer weekly and 4+ night stay discounts. The cabin has two bedrooms each with a queen bed, two baths, LAUNDRY ROOM, a living area with a RokuTV and couch, and a large kitchen with a dining table. The sleeper sofa is only recommended for kids :). The home is heated with a hot water central boiler, and cooled with window A/C. Parking is directly at your door. Outside amenities include: Fire pit, Adirondack chairs, charcoal BBQ grill, picnic table, and horseshoes. We sell firewood on site as well. There is a trail up Scarface Mountain that leaves from behind this cabin. Walking distance to Ray Brook Brewing Co, Tail O' the Pup BBQ, Pine Cone Ice Cream stand, Taco Truck, Wiley's Flies craft brew tasting room. Nearby is a hike to MacKenzie Pond, and, access to the Jack Rabbit backcountry ski trail. We are minutes from Lake Flower, Lower Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Kiwassa and Oseetah Lakes. For Alpine skiing we have Whiteface Mountain, Mt. Pisgah and Titus Mountain. For Nordic XC ski and snow shoe enthusiasts, we are minutes from Mt. Van Hovenberg Olympic Center, Dewey Mountain Ski & Snowshoe Center, and about 30 minutes to Paul Smith College's VIC with world class groomed trails. Snowmobiling can be done right from the property with access to the trail system on the ADK Rail Trail just a few hundred feet down Old Ray Brook Rd. Mountain bikers and hikers will enjoy Dewey Mountain, the ADK Rail Trail and numerous wild forest trails in the area. We are approximately 10 minutes from High Peaks trail heads such as the ADK Lodge. **PLEASE ASK IN ADVANCE FOR PET APPROVAL. We have free Wifi spread throughout the property and cable TV. Our guests say the speed and signal strength are very good no matter where you stay. Each cabin has a BBQ grill , Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and fire pit for its own use. The grounds are spacious, treed and offer horseshoe pits and firewood available for purchase. Parking is plentiful and free. There is a gas station within walking distance that carries groceries, sandwiches, beer, ice , etc. The Ray Brook Brewing Co. and Tail O' the Pup outdoor BBQ restaurant are just steps away on foot. We or our helpful staff are available if you need us. While we are often on the property keeping things up or preparing for other guests, we will not be obtrusive or bothersome. Moreno's Cottages celebrates 100 years! Moreno's was founded by Tessie and Tony Moreno, in 1923. Tony built this property by hand over the years and Aunt Tessie ran the place like a drill Sargent. The Drake Family is proud to continue this legacy offering rustic , traditional Adirondack cabins and a family friendly atmosphere. Together with our 4 children, we are constantly updating and remodeling to make our guests' stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. We welcome you to visit us year round. Pets considered on a case by case basis in the winter & spring seasons only. Please let us know with your inquiry before booking if you would like to bring. Pet fee is an additional $95 per stay. The fee will be assessed after you have booked and charged separately, based on limitations with the booking platform. Online payment accepted, in advance of arrival. Limited to one animal per reservation, with a maximum size of 50 lbs. Pets are not allowed to be left alone in the cabin unless crated and are not allowed on any furniture or bedding. Guests responsible for any and all clean up or costs incurred associated with pet activity or behavior. Must be leashed at all times when on the property. Quiet hours are 10pm - 8am daily. From July through Labor Day, we allow pets under 20 lbs, only, and ask that you contact us first to let us know.
