Located in a tranquil "impasse" (no through road), our apartment is situated in a residential area surrounded by spacious family villas, each with their own lush gardens. Experience the serene and authentic local atmosphere, which benefits from the proximity to forests and countryside while being conveniently located within walking distance to the town center (with cafés, shops etc). Our location is ideal, situated between the majestic mountains and the azure Mediterranean Sea. You can reach the beautiful beaches and the bustling towns of Cannes and Nice within 20-30 minutes, or hit the slopes at the nearest ski resort in less than an hour. This region truly offers something for everyone, with stunning scenery, adventure sports, beaches, shopping, hiking, mountain biking, golf, fabulous food, gorgeous medieval hill villages, art galleries, and much more. Experience the best of the French Riviera and make unforgettable memories in Roquefort les Pins. Welcome to Lou Messugo, a bright and sunny 1-bedroom apartment (gite) that can accommodate up to 4 guests. Our beautiful Provencal family home, located in the world-famous French Riviera, is attached to the gite, but it is fully independent. Please note that our place is not an apartment in a block of flats, instead, it is a charming and cozy gite that embodies the true essence of French living. Our gite is situated in a large garden with a refreshing swimming pool that is shared only with us, the owners. Located on a quiet no-through road, this tranquil setting is just a few minutes' walk away from the local town center, where you can find all the amenities you need. Experience the authentic French lifestyle and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Lou Messugo. Check out IG for more photos & videos @loumessugo Our cosy gite/apartment boasts 1 bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a spacious living room with a double sofa bed, and a modern bathroom with a large shower. The fully equipped kitchenette includes a 2-ring hob, oven, microwave/grill, fridge and all the necessary utensils for preparing your own meals. Stay entertained with satellite TV, a hifi with USB connection, and fast, free, and unlimited WIFI. Step outside and enjoy the sunny patio, complete with a BBQ and sun loungers. We provide all linen and bath towels, and pool towels are available upon request for an additional fee. Indulge in an array of activities during your stay with us! Our property offers a variety of facilities, including a large trampoline, pétanque (boules) pitch, table tennis, mölky/Kubb and badminton. And not to be missed, our fabulous pool provides the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun. If you're looking to combine work and travel, our place is ideal for a "workcation". The serene surroundings, abundant sunshine (great for Vitamin D to boost your immune system), free WIFI, ergonomic desk chair, and access to our printer make it a pleasure to work from Lou Messugo. We understand that travelling with babies or toddlers can be challenging, so we aim to make your stay with us as stress-free as possible. We offer a range of equipment, including a travel cot, high chair, plastic plates/cutlery/cups, and a selection of toys, books, and games to keep your little ones entertained. We reside on the property and are readily available to assist with any language barriers you may encounter, such as booking restaurants, arranging onward travel, and securing tickets for events/trips. We're also happy to provide recommendations on local activities and attractions. Having lived here since 2007, we've explored all the amazing things the area has to offer, from canyoning, hiking, sailing, and skiing, to museums, art galleries, undiscovered country villages, shopping, restaurants, and markets. Our children have grown up here, so we can suggest activities for little ones as well. We take pleasure in helping our guests make the most of their time in our beautiful part of the world, and we love to hear about your travels. However, we also understand the importance of privacy, so if you prefer to be left alone, we respect that fully. As our guest, you are fully independent, so it's entirely up to you how much interaction you want with us. No matter the time of year, this region of France is absolutely stunning, and our location close to the mountains makes us an ideal base for winter activities such as skiing or snowshoe trekking. Even in the winter the climate is mild, with plenty of sunshine and midday temperatures frequently reaching 18°C (65°F) in January. This makes it possible to enjoy a delightful lunch on a sunny restaurant terrace, even during the middle of winter! Additionally, the apartment is fully heated to ensure a comfortable and cosy stay during the cooler months. Please browse through the guide I've prepared here to give you an idea of some of the great things you can do in the area. It's far from exhaustive as there's just so much more on offer particularly in the category of restaurants. It would be impossible to list all the fabulous places to eat from cosy local cafés to gourmet bistros and gastronomic palaces! Many of my favourite places don't show up on the map search for this guide book but I'd be delighted to tell you about them. I also write a blog Lou Messugo in which I write about local places of interest, places to visit, festivals, French culture and much more. Do have a read! Otherwise please feel free to ask me for tips and local knowledge. You have your own key and being in an entirely separate apartment you are fully independent to come and go as you like. You have access to a large garden with a pétanque pitch, trampoline, ping-pong table and badminton. You also have access to the pool from 8 am - 7 pm (in season, roughly May - late September depending on the weather, it's not heated) which is shared only with us, the owners. (And we prioritise your use, in fact, it's very rare that we'd actually be there with you). If needed you can store large items such as a roof box, bicycles, golf clubs, skis, etc in our garage. We play it by ear as to how much we interact with guests. We have run our popular vacation rental for more than 14 years so we're pretty good at judging whether our guests want to chat and socialise or be left alone. As the apartment is fully independent there is no need to interact, but often the desire is there and we all enjoy getting to know each other. Each booking is different! We do however live on site and are nearly always here during bookings so guests will see us around though we are respectful of their privacy and discrete. The town of Roquefort les Pins has everything you require on a daily basis with 2 delicious bakeries (for those buttery croissants, pain au chocolats and crunchy baguettes), an excellent supermarket, butchers, greengrocers, delis, organic store, zero-waste store, banks, cafés, several good restaurants (walking distance) and a weekly market. The apartment is in a quiet "impasse" (no through road so no traffic) in a residential area surrounded by large family villas, all with big gardens. It is a calm and genuine local area that benefits from being close to forests and the countryside but walking distance to the town centre. We are ideally located between mountains and sea, only 20-30 mins to beautiful beaches and the buzzing towns of Cannes & Nice and less than 1 hour to the nearest ski resort. This area really does offer something for everyone: stunning scenery, adventure sports, beaches, shopping, hiking, mountain biking, golf, fabulous food, gorgeous medieval hill villages, art galleries and much much more. We are located 30 mins drive from Nice International Airport and only 5 minutes walk from the bus stop on the route from Nice to Grasse (passing by Nice airport). The bus links up with the coast train which makes it possible to spend time here using only public transport though to make the most of this stunning and varied area we strongly recommend you have your own car. It should be stressed that this is a country bus line not an urban bus and therefore runs about every 30-40 mins and stops early in the evening. A car is advised if possible. Cars can be parked right outside the apartment door, making it easy to unload luggage, transfer tired children etc. The parking area is secure, within our locked property. We have a charging point for electric vehicles which you can use free of charge. Please note this is a quiet residential area with young families who live here, therefore parties and loud music are not allowed. The pool is open from 8 am to 7pm. Complimentary charging for EVs.
