The space A spacious and comfortable gîte Gîte Vin Rouge is a converted 150-year-old walnut drying barn with plenty of space for up to six guests. The open-plan living area is the heart of the gîte, with a comfortable lounge, dining area and well-equipped kitchen. There are three bedrooms — one with a double bed and two with single beds — giving families or groups of friends plenty of flexibility. The gîte has air conditioning for the warmer months, heating for cooler evenings, fast Wi-Fi and a smart TV, so you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Outside The gîte has its own private terrace and access to the shared 8 x 4 metre swimming pool and enclosed gardens. There is a small children's play area and football goal, while adults can relax by the pool or enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the surrounding countryside. The views stretch across vineyards, sunflower fields and the Seugne valley. It's a peaceful rural setting, with birdsong, wildlife and wonderfully dark skies at night. A great base for exploring There is plenty to see and do within easy driving distance, from local villages, markets and walks to the beaches and the Gironde Estuary. Wine lovers are particularly well placed, with Bordeaux, Blaye and Saint-Émilion all within reach. And, of course, you can discover some of the local wines without even leaving the property — we have our own licensed wine-tasting room and are always happy to share our knowledge of the region. Ideal for Families, couples or friends looking for a comfortable countryside gîte with a pool, plenty of outdoor space and easy access to the wine regions and attractions of southwest France. Guest access There are three gîtes on the property, each with its own private terrace. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared grounds and 8 x 4m swimming pool, as well as the children's play area and football goal. The owners live in a separate residence on site, so we're nearby if you need anything, while still giving you your own space. Other things to note Wine and Cognac are a big part of this area. We are licensed to offer wine tastings and selected wines by the glass or bottle. For stays of 7 nights or more, we can offer a complimentary introduction to a few local wines on request. We also have links with local vineyards and can help arrange bespoke visits and tastings. The property is in a peaceful rural location, so a car is essential for getting around.
