Built in 1960 by my grandfather Frank, this basic wooden cabin is most comfortable for 2 persons. There is a bunk bed in the main room and two mattresses in the attic, camping toilet and outside shower with hot water. The space Old wooden BASIC small cabin that provides a camping experience with a bit more comfort then a tent - don't expect luxury. It is located on the hillside above Lake Bled in a peaceful area on the outskirts of the forest with a wonderful view on the lake and island. It was built by my grandfather Frank - hence the name. It is a small, BASIC cabin: water, electricity, small electrical cooker and a small refrigerator. Surface area is around 12 square meters / 129 square feet - again, the cabin is small. There is NO REGULAR BATHROOM! There is a washroom with a sink and camping toilet, and a basic outside shower basin with hot and cold water. Great for people who wish to get back to nature and for those who want a camping experience. Fresh linen, sheets and towels are provided by us and are included in the price. The size of each bed on the bunk bed is 190 x 80 cm / 74 x 31 in - tall people be aware. The cabin is on a hill in the forrest, behind our house. This means there is a short 2 minute climb up from the main road, through the bushes up on a small dirt footpath - if it's raining or if you have a suitcase, it can be a little bit tricky to get to the cabin. Because we can't turn off Mother Nature at our convenience you will from time to time receive nightly visits from chipmunks and squirrels running up and down on the roof outside. Spider webs, spiders, mosquitos and other bugs are common in this area. Although we clean the cabin through and through, there will most probably be a spider web there the next day. Again - the cabin is in the forrest, so that goes with the territory. If you don't like spiders, mosquitos and other bugs, you might consider looking somewhere else for your holiday in Bled. It takes about 15 minutes from the cabin to reach the lake shore on foot, and about 30 minutes to reach the center of Bled if you walk by the lake shore. IMPORTANT NOTE: the nearest grocery store is at Camping Bled area, about 25 minutes away from the cabin on foot. Because there is a climb back up the hill to the cabin, grocery shopping can be a bit of a logistical hassle. If you are coming to the cabin with public transport, let me know in advance so I can drive you to the supermarket and then back to the cabin with enough groceries. Guest access Guests have access to the parking space, the cabin and the immediate area around the cabin. Other things to note We can also arrange for our guests to have a paintball or rafting experience on the Sava river - great fun for the whole family or group of friends! We also provide transfers to and from most important places: - Ljubljana - Ljubljana airport (LJU) - Lesce - Bled train station - Bled main bus station Other destinations are also available - just let us know where and when would you like to go. The cabin is also intended for digital detoxification so there is no WiFi. If you wish to have access, there is a hotspot down by the parking area.
