Description

We welcome you to join us for a relaxing stay at 'The Old Post Office'. Steeped in history for many years The Old Post Office served people of the local area to ensure mail was delivered around the country - a time when email was yet to be dreamed into existence. Fast forward a century or so, and a renovation or two, you will now find it's more than equipped for a great staycation. With it's fantastic central location it's the perfect place for you to explore the local area. The space *** Please note that there is currently external remodelling taking place, however this does not affect the inside of the property. *** If you're worried about social distancing, we offer easy self check-in so getting through the front door will be a breeze. If you do however need a hand then we live onsite in the annex so always happy to help. Inside you'll be spoilt for space with your own lounge, recently renovated kitchen diner, with a fully equipped kitchen, plus your own ground floor bathroom with shower. The lounge is modern and stylish with bold colours and furnishing which bring a contemporary feel to your stay. There's a coffee maker, plus complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk at your disposal so you can relax with a brew. Upstairs you will find 2 large bedrooms each equipped with a desk should you need to get any work finished off. To the right (rear view bedroom) you will have a peaceful night's sleep in the double bed with views overlooking fields where cows graze at the right time of year. To the left (street view bedroom) you will find a comfy king size bed. We want you to feel at home so you will find all bedding, towels and Dove toiletries here to help lighten your suitcase. We've also included a hairdryer and iron - as these are essentials in our opinion when venturing away from home! If there's anything else you need then don't hesitate to get in touch. And if you're wondering what happened to The Old Post Office, don't forget to look out for the little night-time serving hatch in the lounge where the local people dropped their evening mail to remind you of this buildings important history. Guest access You will find free off road parking for two cars at the end of the drive and your own private entrance into the building. Being only a couple of minutes from the M6, M6 roll road and the A5, the location is perfect for you to commute pretty much anywhere. There is also a Shell petrol station if you need to fill up. But should you wish to let someone else take the wheel you'll find a taxi company across the road and two pubs within 5 minutes walking distance. If you're looking for food the Beefeater restaurant and Hungry Horse restaurant serve up traditional pub food. For those after something quick and easy there's also McDonalds within 5 minutes walk too. Or alternatively both Uber Eats and Deliveroo service this area for anything else you may want delivered to the door. Other things to note 'The Old Post Office' is a great launchpad whether you're looking for the great outdoors or spot of retail therapy. If shopping is your thing, then make sure you clear some space in your wardrobe and explore over 45 designer brands at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands which is only three miles away. If you find the time we strongly recommend venturing out in to the forests of Cannock Chase (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), one of England’s finest landscapes, and the jewel of the West Midlands. Well known and loved for its scenery, wildlife and rich history, it offers superb walking, cycling and horse-riding in a tranquil and peaceful setting. If you're looking for something a bit more action packed don't forget to check out Go Ape. This Cannock Chase outdoor activity centre hits all the fun and adventure buttons against a backdrop of stunning valley views where you’ll find Go Ape's longest combined crossing with nearly 1,500 metres of tree-to-tree crossings. The Treetop Adventure course is ideal for children (and adults) to find their tree legs and build their climbing confidence. If this all sounds too much and you'd rather keep your feet firmly on the ground then you can also enjoy the breathtaking views from the comfort of an off-road Segway at Go Ape.
