The Ramblers' Rest is your home to explore Dartmoor. We try to do things a little bit differently here and provide you with high quality accommodation with simple self-catering facilities to provide your own breakfast. Right next door we have The Police Station Cafe and the Fox Tor Cafe who can knock up a fabulous breakfast if you wish to have something a bit more special. The space All of our rooms offer simple catering facilities; a fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle. Allowing you to prepare your own food and enjoy hot drinks with fresh milk. We provide tea, coffee and milk with the room. The bed linen is all 100% Egyptian Cotton. We have a drying room, an outdoor kitchen complete with log burner, pizza oven, hob, fridge and sink (closed during the cold winter months due to pipes freezing). Outdoors we have a terraced area with tables and chairs, so you can sit and enjoy a drink in the sunshine. We also boast the most gigantic hot tub which is complete with a sand filter, so the water is cleaned like a swimming pool. The hot tub is available to all guests over the age of 16 years (insurance) from 4pm until 10pm. We provide robes and sliders to wear to the hot tub. Phone cases and plastic glasses are also available for your use whilst in the hot tub. Guest access All guests can use the hot tub and outdoor kitchen. We close outdoor kitchen from the 2nd January until 31st March (sometimes we open it sooner but it is dependent on the weather). However if you wish to use it during these times, please speak to us in advance, we may be able to arrange it. During your stay We love socialising with our guests. Typically we leave you to enjoy your break but we are more than happy to join you in one of the local pubs or have a drink outside on the terrace. Guests tend to interact with each other in our outdoor kitchen and when using the hot tub. Other things to note We have so many things on our doorstep. In our entrance hall we have a large OS map with photos linking to amazing sites. We have deals with local businesses for our guests. We are commited to sustainability and use green electricity, 50% is self-generated by our solar panels. We use and air source heat pump to help run our hot tub sustainably. We use a sand filter on our hot tub to maintain high quality water without the need to constantly change water between guests and to ensure that guests can all use the facility. We purchase responsibly and do not use single use plastics where we can avoid it. We love quirky products and innovative green providers and try to support great ideas! We have secure bike storage.
