Kingfisher Lodge on Coochie (Pet friendly)

Welcome to Kingfisher Lodge on Coochie. If you are after a place to unwind, relax and touch base with nature, this is the holiday destination for you. Coochie is approximately 35 kms from Brisbane CBD and 1 km off the mainland from Victoria Point. Access via the passenger ferry or vehicular barge, $70 return. Coochie boasts 4 kms of white sandy beaches, perfect for swimming, beach walking, kayaking, boating and fishing. The Lodge is located on the Main Beach side, a 200m stroll to the beach. The space Kingfisher Lodge is situated on the Main Beach side of the Island. It is North facing which captures the warmth of the winter sun and the coolness of the summer breeze in the summer months. Pillows and quilt covers are provided, you only need to bring your own sheets, pillowcases, and beach towels. We can provide these items for a fee, if you are travelling and unable to bring your own. The cost is $15 per bed for supply and laundering. We do provide: tea towels, a bathmat, hand towels and toilet paper. Cooking oil, salt & pepper, some spices, baking paper, alfoil and glad wrap, Sugar and a starter selection of teas and coffee. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, Stove top, microwave, toaster, kettle and sandwich press, casserole dishes, serving and oven trays. there is even cake tins if you wish to do some baking. 😊 The property is fully fenced with a large back undercover deck and back and front yard, making it ideal for families with children and 4 legged furry friends. There are water and food bowls available for use, as well as a few dog toys and balls. You will find a selection of towels for dogs, dog, dishes, and toys in the cupboard on the back deck. The Lodge is situated close to restaurants, The Oasis, mainly open for dinner and the Curlew Cafe on Victoria Parade where the Passenger ferry comes in. Curlew Cafe offers great meals as well as take away food, such as; fish & chips, pizza and burgers. Milk, bread, the paper and any other basic essentials are available too. Coochiemudlo Island Beach Bar is a popular place to hang out for a drink and they also provide awesome meals with a fantastic view of the beach. It’s situated on Main Beac side just a little along from Curlew Cafe. Always check for their opening times. The Coochiemudlo Island Golf Club, which is situated at the Western end of the Island. The Golf Club is now open for Saturday and Sunday lunches. They also serve drinks. All at a reasonable cost looking out over the golf course and again the beautiful waters of Moreton Bay. There are No Supermarkets on Coochie so you need to plan your meals food for picnics and BBQ’s. There are free electric BBQ’s scattered around the Emerald fringe of the Island. The dog off leash area is situated at the Red Rock end of the beach, (Western end) along from the barge landing/boat ramp at Main Beach. Due to the close proximately of the holiday house to all facilities and beaches there is no need to drive your car to get around. Most holiday makers and residents enjoy walking and or cycling. Guest access Once you have confirmed your holiday stay, the whole house and contents is available for your use. The keys are available by a key safe, which is situated on the front verandah opposite the front sliding door under the handrail. It is the closest key safe to the footpath. I will send you the key code for your stay the day prior to your holiday. There is an assortment of board games, books and family friendly DVD's available. The TV in the main lounge is a Smart TV. You will find a QR code to scan and or the password on the corkboard for the Internet access. Do remember to log out when your holiday is over. If you forget, you can log out remotely when you get home. there is a small analog TV in the main bedroom. In the kitchen under the benchtop in a cabinet, there is a picnic set for your use. On the back deck you will find two low beach chairs and a beach umbrella ( please hose the sand off after use). The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, a free standing oven, baking, cake and muffin trays, a grill, a microwave, a sandwich press, a toaster, a kettle, a Nespresso coffee pod machine, a coffee plunger, teapots and breadboards and sharp knives. All the crockery and glass wear etc you will need. PLEASE wash, dry and put away all crockery and kitchen equipment where stored, when your holiday is over. Please leave the kitchen as you found it with everything back in its correct place. The coffee machine if used, must be emptied and ready for the next guests to enjoy. I supply at least eight coffee pods for your stay. The machine takes Nespresso coffee pods which are available through Coles or Woolworths. There is a lockable safe for your valuables, under the kitchen bench top. There are two locked cupboards that are for private use only, one is inside, and the other is on the back deck. Other things to note If you are holidaying with your 4 legged furry friends please keep the yard clean by cleaning up after them, as pet lovers usually do. 🐕🐕🐕 All pets must be adequately wormed and up to date with their flea treatment. Your pets are allowed inside but please do not allow your furry friends to sleep on the beds or furniture. The laundry area is tiled and ideal for dog beds or they are welcome to be with you on their dog bed in the living/lounge room. There is a dividing gate that can be used to keep your pets away from the kitchen, when you are busy cooking. Your pets will enjoy Coochie as much as you will but please leave the house as you find it, ready for the next holiday guests to enjoy their stay.
