While at Sonoma, explore the Loop Trail Hike, a ¾ mile path immediately out the back door, which takes you up the mountain to one of the most spectacular views in all of the high desert! Relax in the Yin Yang Meditation Garden – part labyrinth, part rock garden – and meditate, read, or sip your coffee or tea while enjoying the gorgeous desert vista. The space This expansive home is thoughtfully remodeled and divided into four separate suites, including the NorthStar Suite, which offers two rooms (one with a queen bed and the other with a futon), a spacious bathroom (with tub and shower combo), air conditioning/heating, WiFi, TV, a convenient kitchenette (equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker), table/chairs, dresser, large closet, a private BBQ grill, and its own entrance. Enjoy the peace and privacy of your suite or connect with fellow travelers in the home's inviting common areas, including a large living room, a media/game room, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. We warmly welcome both children and pets! Hike with your dog on the Chateau property or in the National Monument (which, unlike Joshua Tree National Park, is dog-friendly). Take the family on a leisurely bike ride or go for a workout on your mountain bike. You might also enjoy Sonoma’s lush outdoor space with shaded patio, dog run, night-sky viewing deck, bicycle trails (ask us for maps!) and more. You’ll find many activities and adventures available right on the property or in the nearby area. Chateau Sonoma is conveniently located in the heart of the high desert, within easy reach of additional entertainment, diverse hiking trails, restaurants, and exciting adventures in Morongo Valley, Joshua Tree National Park, Pioneertown, Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley. Whether you’re seeking a short desert escape or a longer stay to explore the region’s many attractions, consider visiting for a few days, a few weeks or longer. Many guests make Sonoma their temporary home while traveling through the area, working in the area, or moving to the area. With lots of space to roam around the property, and plenty of room to spread out within the home and suite, let Chateau Sonoma become your “home away from home.” We are locals who know the area well and can direct you to hikes, restaurants, farmers markets and other attractions/amenities within the desert area. Guest access Your suite is self contained and private. You'll also have a private patio deck that overlooks the valley. The suites have no shared/common walls. The High Desert occasionally has power outages. We are not responsible for any general outages planned or emergency of Southern California Edison. We do our best to ensure proactive pest control practices are in place. However due to the natural terrain, you may encounter unwanted pests. Dogs are welcome. A Pet fee will be charged as follows: first pet $35, $25 for each additional pet. Please read our pet policy under House Rules to find breed restrictions that may apply.
