The Rivery Retreat is a unique nature oriented property that offers a peaceful and relaxing setting. It is STRICTLY NON SMOKING! Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property and guests smoking will be asked to leave without refund of booking or deposit! Please be considerate and if you MUST smoke: book somewhere else! We also offer a discount or complimentary Add On for guests who stay more than 3 nights & agree to do a short check out list (easy stuff-just loading all used linens into laundry basket and trash into proper receptacles, etc), with a special offer quote for your next stay, adding an extra night, or adding some of our optional amenities! It’s a nature oriented zen like property. As such it is characteristically set high on a hill above the canyons of the river, with a variety of decks on various levels, and a few steps involved to access your accommodation. Nothing too steep, and handrails adjacent, but may not be ideal for wheelchair or handicap access. The property is just up from the Colorado River, so in high season, the sound of boats may be audible. If guests wish to bring their boat/trailer, or kayak, canoes, it is fine, as we have a designated parking spot for up to 25' trailers, and other spots for smaller hand carried boats. A launching facility is not far away. Tons of hiking trails nearby, the property is in a great location for Day trips to wineries, breweries, downtown, Congress Ave, Rainey, or small hill country towns such as Fredericksburg, Wimberly, Blanco, and others, then back to "The Retreat" to really relax in luxury and peaceful surroundings! The private pool is located behind the main house, for total privacy, and just a short walk along the spacious long porches that guests are invited to also enjoy the porch swings, gliders, and dining overlooking the grounds where deer graze, hummingbirds and a variety of native flora and fauna is plentiful! We also can accommodate small gatherings for special occasions, but must discuss ahead for best rates and planning. We enjoy hosting anniversary celebrations, birthdays, showers, bachelor, bachelorette parties, honeymooners, baby moons, Girl's GetAways', Family Vacays, and more! Just ask!
