Other things to note If you are in Vienna, you will certainly not need a car. The tram "D" stops 200 meters in front of our house, station "Bauernfeldplatz" and you can drive to and from the central station and the immediate city without changing trains. By public transport, everything is easily accessible in Vienna. You can get to the subway if you are on Liechtensteinstraße for about 5 minutes and then take the subway "Schottentor" on the right side of the street. You can get a map, valid for all public transport and parking tickets for your car in the tobacco range at Bauernfeldplatz. It is best to take a weekly ticket for about €16.00. Parking in Vienna costs in front of the house with a maximum length of 2 hours €2.00/per hour, Saturday/Sunday and holiday, if you find a parking space, nothing. Please NEVER park without a parking ticket. It is often controlled and the minimum penalty is €38.00! In the (inexpensive) parking garage, 300 meters away at Bauernfeldplatz, approx. €30, - in the park+Ride at Spittelauer Lände, €3.50 per day In that case, let your companion get off at the house and drive yourself to Spittelauer Lände 12, about 10 minutes) for the way back, take the U4 direction Hütteldorf and get off at the stop Rossauer Lände, 5 minutes), by tram line D - direction Central Station (10 minutes) or by foot (15 minutes). By pedes you are at the State Opera and Hofburg in 15 minutes and at St. Stephen's Cathedral in 20 minutes! The Viennese Ferris wheel in the Prater, the Danube tower and Schönbrunn can be reached by metro within a very short time. The subway station U4 "Rossauer Lände" is a 5-minute walk from the apartment. The famous Strudelhofstiege is a few minutes away, vis a vis from Liechtenstein Palace. Restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity. I would like to recommend the original Wiener Beisl "Wickerl" on Bauernfeldplatz and the beautiful small restaurants in Servitengasse, at the Serviten Kirche (Servitenwirt, Pasteria, porcelain). A really good tip is the "Stomach" in Seegasse, Wednesday-Sunday, only SA/SO also open at noon. You can have breakfast very nicely in the trendy "1090" at Bauernfeldplatz. A good pizzeria is "Scala" in Servitengasse or Mar et Sol in Müllnergasse – all within walking distance. Vienna without visiting a Heurigen – that's not supposed to be! Good Heurigen in Grinzing, (take bus 38a at Bauernfeldplatz - runs directly) are: Zimmermann (Nobelheuriger), Mayer am Pfarrplatz, Muth, Welser (with music) and fire brigade wagner. 10 minutes away you can visit the Sigmund Freud Museum in Berggasse or in 3 minutes the beautiful Palais Liechtenstein with its beautiful park. There are special opening hours for tours inside. Opposite is the famous Strudelhofstiege. See for sure! At Bauernfeldplatz you will find a pharmacy, the supermarket "SPAR Gourmet" and the bakery Ströck in a few minutes on Liechtensteinstraße in the city. Vis a vis you can buy flowers for your wife...
