Located in the heart of Sicily, on the Iblei Mountains, a few miles away from the Unesco Heritage Village, Palazzolo Acreide , Villa Ananda is a traditional Mediterranean house, nested on a top of a gorge with terraces covered by olive tree, fruits tree and wild Sicilian flowers and pants. Although few minutes drive from the main village , as soon you will step in, you will be far away with your mind from the daily routine and feeling at home in Sicily with us! The space Welcome to Ananda Villa. We choose the name Ananda for our house because of the meaning of the word in Sanskrit, that is Bliss and Happiness, and that is the feeling we have living here and we want to share with our guest. Malva and Pomelia double rooms, are 2 separate spacious twin/double room, with a share bathroom on the same first floor of the Villa. The rooms are large and comfortable and the single bed are super comfy and larger than usual. The rooms are perfect for 2 couples or just friends. Breakfast is included and is served under the veranda or in the garden. On the first floor of the house there are 3 rooms only for guests; 2 rooms with sharing bathroom ( malva and pomelia) and 1 only with private bathroom ( Calendula) and an extra room that is Valentina's weaving workshop room. On the ground floor a large living room to share with us and eventually other guest, although during summer our " salotto " is the garden. If our guest book during winter that is not possible to use the veranda outside, we are flexible to let them use our kitchen. In the outdoor veranda we have a simple kitchen for all the guest of the house with a small fridge, an induction cooker, a barbecue and what is needed to cook. We like friendly people and we want to create a relaxing atmosphere around us We moved in this house , after 7 years in Cambodia ( where I also had a b&b) last April 2019 and we are working hard to improve this beautiful house and make our guest feeling like at their own house. If you also are a cats lover, we have 5 sweet cats ( 4 from Cambodia and 1 Sicilian) and a nice and quiet dog, all looking for new friends and cuddles. The Villa is close enough to the main village, only 5 minutes drive, but far enough to feel that you are far away of everything! *****NOTE: We don't host family with kids younger than 10 years old, only accepted if they book all the 3 rooms of the house through the listing Ananda Villa your country side escape. The most beautiful things of the house are the 2 hectares of land around you, that is almost like to have a private park and you can do trekking every day and find a quiet spot only for you. There are 63 centennial olive trees, carrube, several fruits tree, typical Mediterranean plants and wild herbs. The entire villa has been rebuilt on the foundations of a 1856 residence, used by monks of the diocesi of Noto, and still now it's visible a water cisterna of over 10,000 lt . From a secondary access to the villa, through a rocky path you reach the bottom of the valley where there is an ancient well. From the villa you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Iblei mountains and the valley. Guest access The guest can access to a nice outdoor veranda where there is a basic kitchen with an induction cooker, a little fridge and what is necessary for cooking. The living room is also a sharing place and in winter time if there is any booking we are happy to share our kitchen with the guest.
