Our property offers unique, handcrafted cottages with sea views, privacy, and direct contact with nature. Set within 19 acres of hillside wilderness in the charming Etruscan town of Vetulonia, Il Baciarino is the perfect place to escape the city, slow down, and enjoy unspoiled landscapes, fresh seafood, and good wine. Il Baciarino is rustic, peaceful, and built on a hillside. For this reason, it may not be suitable for toddlers, anxious pets, or guests with mobility issues. We also have four cats living on the property. They are very friendly and affectionate, and they often enjoy spending time around the cottages. If you are not comfortable around cats, or have allergies, please keep this in mind when booking. As we are fully immersed in nature, geckos, insects, and other small creatures may occasionally find their way into the cottages. This is a natural part of staying in the countryside, and we do not take measures to completely prevent them from entering. We kindly ask our guests to embrace the experience of living in close connection with nature. There is no Wi-Fi service in the cottages. Wi-Fi is available only in our common area. This is intentional: we hope you’ll have the chance to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the landscape, the sounds of nature, and the rhythm of the land. Guest access During your stay at Il Baciarino, you’ll have access to our welcoming common room with free Wi-Fi, locally handmade products, tourist information, and books about the area—perfect for planning your days in Maremma. You can also enjoy our outdoor amphitheater, an open-air space ideal for yoga, picnics, or small gatherings. And don’t miss meeting our friendly donkeys, Rodrigo and Stella, who are always happy to receive a little vegetable snack. Other things to note Il Baciarino is located on the side of a mountain, bordering a nature reserve, and is regularly visited by local wildlife. Our cottages are designed to give you direct access to this natural environment—something our guests love—but it may not be suitable for very young children, anxious pets, or highly active animals. The terrain is steep and may be challenging for those with mobility issues. Please keep this in mind when booking.
