A typical Alaskan bush home surrounded by seven acres of wooded property which is then surrounded by a spruce forest. House is rustic and older but clean. Our water is delivered, the perfect quiet get away for anyone wanting to escape it all and enjoy the real Alaska. We often see moose, the occasional caribou and are only minutes from world class King Salmon fishing on the Klutina River and rafting one of three rivers. 1 bed and 1 small bathroom. We have dogs and free flying birds. We are set in the heart of the Copper River Valley (mosquito country). Centrally located between Anchorage, Fairbanks and Valdez on the Glenn Highway. Our Salmon fishing is world class, we are close to rafting, flight sees tours over the Wrangell Mountains, hiking, Wrangell St. Elias National Park, we enjoy long summer days lots of sunshine and plenty of wildlife. We often have moose, hare, grouse, tons of different bird species (field guides on premises) Owner is a local with knowledge of biological and Alaska Native history. We can send you off on an adventure you will never forget. This is truly one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Join us! Our dogs roam free and we have birds that fly around in the house so if you have allergies please don't book. The Bear Den room has a Queen size bed and VERY small bathroom and shower. The washer and dryer are available upon request. There are three exit doors, large couches and a TV in the living room with internet. The kitchen is fully stocked. Fireweed and Caribou Room and back bathroom are host spaces. Our home is small but clean and decorated beautifully with a fully stocked kitchen. The bathroom in the Bear Den is a toilet and shower only no tub, this is a small bathroom. We are continually working to improve all aspects of the home and hope you will enjoy your stay. Quiet time after 9pm. We are flexible on check in and check out times as long as you communicate with us. I will be available at any time through text and housekeepers information will be available to guests. We do have birds and giant dogs in the house if you have allergies I suggest not booking because the dogs want to interact with you! We don't have neighborhoods. We are two miles from Glennallen with a grocery store and coffee shops, great little gift shops, gas stations, Wrangell St Elias National Park Office. There is no public transportation available. You must rent a vehicle. We have a large parking area. (Recommend a four wheel drive vehicle if you are planning to hike Wrangell St.Elias trails as the McCarthy road can be hazardous.) We value the peace and quiet serenity of our area. Listening to the sounds of nature each day will restore your soul. There are animals and animals hides mounted on the walls. This is a (non-sport) hunting home. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you but if you want a real Alaska experience then welcome!
