Bed and breakfast in Bishopstone

Sarah Keefe and husband, Damian, welcome you to Heartsease Bed & Breakfast. We are on the Wye Valley Walk, between Hereford & Hay-on-Wye. Your room is light and airy with views onto the cottage garden. There is a King sized bed (with electric blanket or duvet), settee, ensuite toilet and private upstairs bathroom leading from the bedroom. Continental breakfast is served in our farmhouse kitchen (Cooked available at £5 per person). Over breakfast you can enjoy wonderful views to the hills. The space Heartsease B&B is in our characterful house built in 1590 as an inn. It is timber framed with wattle and daub panels. When a stone front was added in the 1800s, the roof line was raised, adding an upstairs to the 2-roomed inn. Situated on the Roman road from Wales into Hereford, it stayed as an inn until 1832 when it became a farmhouse. Since then the house has been extended and includes a private B&B space. Guest access You are welcome to sit in our garden and enjoy afternoon tea. The paddock beyond has miniature Shetland ponies and you may get a glimpse of a foal in the summer months. We also welcome cyclists and have a safe place you can store your road or mountain bikes. During your stay We are happy to share ideas on days out - local gardens of interest, the best canoeing trips and our favourite walks along the Wye Valley or in the Black Mountains. Whether you want a riverside stroll at Hay or to climb the highest mountain in Southern Wales, Pen-y-Fan at 886m, this area has so much to offer. Damian is a potter with a wood-fired kiln so if you are interested, he will show you some of his wares and explain how it all works. Other things to note Let us know if you'd like a packed lunch or an evening meal. The packed lunch comprises sandwich, crisps, fruit, cake and drink for £7.00. The two course dinner, with choice of main dish, is £20.00 each with beer/wine available. We need 24 hours notice to prepare the cooked breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal.
