Light and airy modern cottage situated in beautiful National Trust coastal area. Chough Cottage is on a quiet private road just 200m from Crackington Haven beach - location of cafes, pub, sand, surf, rock pools and Cornish coastal path. The space One of a small number of houses in Crackington Haven - situated on a quiet private lane. Modern cottage built in 1997 and extended in 2022. New modern kitchen with dining area. Light open-plan living room with wood burning stove, large smart TV, super-fast fibre optic Wifi, Amazon Firestick TV, driftwood/seagrass furniture and original artwork with sea scenes. Large master bedroom with balcony and sea views - super-king size ziplock bed; second large master bedroom with king bed, third large bedroom with twin beds, small bedroom with a single bed for an adult or two singles for children at a pinch. New bathrooms with walk-in showers. New modern kitchen with ceramic hob, seating for 8. Games room with lounging area and french doors to patio BBQ area (with Weber gas barbecue) with outdoor seating for those lovely sunset evenings. There is a large garden which combines a flat lawn are with a natural hillside with benches overlooking the sea for sunsets. Guest access Guests rent the whole house and have full access to all rooms, garage and garden. The house and private lane are on a flat area. The 400m walk back from the beach is up a moderate hill which would be a challenge for the infirm. Other things to note Chough Cottage is situated on a quiet private road called Ludon. The garden has ample parking for four cars. The garden adjacent to the house is set to lawn and is a real sun trap. We also own the grassy area to the left of the house and the cliff behind (approx 1/3rd acre) . This has a lot of wild flowers and two benches – the top bench is up some steps – which all have great views of the valley and the sea. Great for sunsets. Kids can have lots of adventures. There is a new boiler using the latest NEST control system with immediate hot water. We have a posh new coffee maker for cappuccino and espresso. The wood burning stove is easy to use – best to get firelighters – kindling and logs are provided. There are some surfboards – one big and two small – I’ve never managed it but feel free to try at your own risk. There are also some old body-boards which you are free to use. All linen and towels are supplied by our housekeeper (Gemma). Cleaning is included in the price so don’t spend hours cleaning before you leave. A welcome pack is provided with some teabags, a few nespresso pods (bring your own if you are an addict like me) biscuits etc.
