The space The Arches is an attractive stone barn conversion providing excellent self-catering holiday cottage accommodation. The Arches lies within the heart of the picturesque village of Otterburn. Otterburn is situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park on the A696, being a perfect overnight stop for those en-route to and from Scotland and for guests attending the various wedding venues at Woodhill Hall ( approximately 1 mile), Le Petit Chateau ( approximately 250 metres) and Otterburn Castle Hotel (approximately 300 metres). This charming two-storey cottage, comprises a one master bedroom with a king size bedroom and feature beams to the ceiling with an ensuite shower room to the first floor. To the ground floor living area there is a fully equipped solid oak kitchen with a spacious dining area, perfect for entertaining. Leading of the open plan kitchen there is a wood burner within the living area which is perfect for cosy country evenings in front of a roaring fire. The Arches forms part of the owners larger property ‘Sunnybrae’ but is completely self-contained providing an ideal base for those wishing to explore the unspoiled and historic landscapes of Northumbria. Although the Arches is a one bedroom cottage, it does however have the facilities to sleep more upon request. Well behaved pets are welcome! Please advise on booking. Accommodation Details Ground floor: Kitchen/dining room with oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Living room with wood burner, freeview TV with built in DVD player. Toilet. First floor: Bedroom Double bed, hairdryer, iron and ironing board Bathroom Outside: Courtyard with table and chairs. Fuel, Oil CH and gas hob. Parking for The Arches is to the side of the property, on the stoned drive/courtyard with table and chairs any issues please contact us. The house can be accessed directly by guests, who are given a code to a key box on the outside of the house. Check in from 2pm and check out by 11am. We are always available to guests by phone, text or email. If you would like to meet up for a chat about what's available locally I would be happy to call in, but generally I would leave you to enjoy the house without interruption. The neighbourhood is peaceful, the silence only broken by the sound of birds both wild and domesticated and the odd vocal sheep. The domesticated variety of bird are actually very well behaved. Ideally your own car is the best way to get around. There are buses that run to Jedburgh and Newcastle but are fairly infrequent. Otterburn does however provide a good base point for walkers and cyclists looking to explore the Northumberland countryside. Otterburn Castle and the Border Reiver village shop (which stocks virtually anything and everything) are easily accessed on foot from the property. We will provide one basket full of logs for the wood burner. We will also provide some essentials, such as tea, coffee and sugar. Please just ask us for further information prior to your stay as we will try to accommodate for all guests as best that we can.
