Its waters change colors magically, its aura is so strong as if you are being penetrated by electromagnetic waves and a melody seems to come out of the water that kisses the rocks and the plants around the lake. Who can resist such beauty? No one ... Kournas Lake is the largest wetland of Crete and is just 5 km from the beautiful beach of Georgioupolis. The lake and its surrounding natural environment are protected by NATURA 2000. Guest access The Lake House is a beautiful two-storey villa which has a surface area of about 110 square meters and it is located in the village of Mouri, less than 1 km far from the lake. The outdoor area includes a seasonal private swimming pool and a garden with many local flowers and trees (an old olive tree, an orange and a lemon tree), making it ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining. There is also a terrace in the upper floor, where you can enjoy the stunning view. This holiday villa can accommodate up to 6 persons and is fully air-conditioned. The ground floor offers a bedroom with a double bed and a TV, a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and dining area, and a spacious living room with a satellite flat-screen TV and an open fireplace. Outside the living room and the dining area is a balcony with view to the garden and the swimming pool. Wooden stairs lead the guests to the upper floor, where they can find two lovely bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a WC.
