From here the track moves away from the banks and continues along the canals of the Mantuan countryside, until you reach Mantua and, with a little more along a pedestrian path along Lake Mezzo, get to the Piazza del Palazzo Ducale. The cycle path of the Mincio crosses the homonymous regional natural park, a protected area that affects the valley of the river from Lake Garda to its confluence in the Po. The naturalistic variety, ranging from the moraine hills to the plains, from the waterways to the lakes of Mantua, is home to a large number of species of birds, including storks, herons, marsh hawks and pilgrims and brown kites.
