Home in Gioviano

Gioviano is a small quiet medieval village 25 kms from the walled city of Lucca in the Garfagnana. The house is peacful and in the heart of this beautiful Tuscan village, if you want to explore the region this is a perfect retreat for a weekend or longer. We are 50 minutes from Pisa airport on the SS12 route. The location is perfect for summer or winter. In summer you can reach the sea, in winter ski in the hills. All year round you can explore the region by foot, bicycle, motorcycle or car. The space This is a small but comfortable one bedroom house in the Tuscan Hills. The house has full facilities of kitchen, bathroom with shower (no bath). The village and house is a typical Tuscan house in a typical Tuscan village. There is wifi, dvd and television. There is a launderette locally, there is no washing machine at the property. This was my home for 5 years, it has been completely renovated for holiday letting. you will be very happy here. I now live in Lucca so can be contacted if needed or if you need any information. Guest access The village is a typical Tuscan village with a car park and short walk through the village to the house. You will have unlimted access to the house with your own keys. I will meet you with instructions then leave you to enjoy your stay. If you arrive late there is a key safe. Other things to note There are many supermarkets and shops near to Gioviano. We provide a welcome pack. At the foot of the hill there is a cafe and restaurant. There are a number of open air public swimming pools in the region in summer, the best one is 6kms from the village (see pictures) all are pay per day pools that are not owned by the house. I am more than happy to help before you arrive and when you are here with my local knowledge, you are always free to ask me any questions before, during and after your stay. We do ask guests planning to come without transport to make contact to ensure you are making a booking you will be happy with. It is possible to stay without transport but better you understand to fully enjoy the stay. There is no bus or train in or near to Gioviano, there is a 5km walk down to the main road and a bus service, there is also a walk back up. UBER does not exist in the region, there is a limited taxi service. Please do consider this when booking, I am happy to answer questions so you enjoy the stay. All guests must register under Italian law, I will request identity for each guest before arrival to make the registration. Please book the correct number of people staying. There is City Tax payable for your stay. This is a cash payment calculated on your stay and a legal obligation, this is not an optional payment, you will be issued a reciept.
