Fern Bank, Wasdale, Cumbria for Walkers and Hikers

Victorian period house, homely family place, recently renovated with Scandinavian influence. Lake District National Park is all around you, if you like outdoors + hiking this is the place for you. Views -Scafell and the Screes, real ale pub just downhill. Cook + dine 8 persons. 1.5 miles walk to Wastwater, need a car to reach Fern Bank +for other local amenities. Two night minimum stay. The space Fern Bank is a detached house with views of Scafell and the Screes. There is parking at the front of the property for three cars. Entrance hall way equipped for removal of muddy hiking boots. Two lounges, one for TV and one for reading both with open fires. The Kitchen equipment supports self catering with pots and cutlery are provided for 8 persons. Three double bedrooms with clothes storage, a further bedroom with 2 x single beds and storage. Towels and bedding are provided. The house has recently been redecorated throughout with new bathroom, shower room, curtains, flooring and carpets so please bring your slippers. Guest access Downstairs at Fern Bank, there is the entry Hall, two living rooms, a dining room, breakfast kitchen, laundry room. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and a family bathroom (shower over bath) on the first floor, and an attic landing with shower room (+toilet and basin) on the second floor. Please supervise your children at stairways, landings and at play in the front and rear gardens. Other things to note If you do plan to go hill walking and hiking on the fells, especially with young family members, please make sure an experienced climber is with you, and that you have all the necessary maps, clothing, equipment, water and rations. Please check the weather and time allotted for the walk or climb which you plan to do and leave information about your plan before setting off. Please think about Safety on the Hills, and also abide by the country code whilst staying in the Lake District National Park.
