Sea views - family & dog friendly coastal hideaway
Description
Things you’ll love: - Stunning, unbroken sea views over the Pembrokeshire coastline, and walks down to wild Marros Beach perfect for multi-generational celebrations - Huge family home with 5 stylish double bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and separate sundowner deck, eco gravel garden, sweeping back garden overlooking the coast. - Indoor & outdoor spaces to eat, separate kitchen and dining room, patio with grill. - Access to the famous Pembrokeshire coastal path, beaches, history and great eats! The space Mor & More is a hidden gem, if you can call a 3500 square foot barn re-conversion "hidden"! It sits on a headland above Marros beach, looking out towards Tenby across the yards and yards of Carmarthen Bay. It's a single-story building, designed along one long corridor - each room is large and comfortably furnished, giving you the sense of space and freedom you deserve on a holiday. The westward, sea-facing side has a living room and separate dining room, and three double bedrooms. The eastern aspect of the house has two more double bedrooms (en-suite), and a large kitchen, laundry room, extra shower, separate WC and access to the garage for logs. There is a large conservatory/sun room on the southern end of the house. For smaller parties who won't need all of the space, there is a secret library door which can be used to close off the section you won't use! The large garden is a mix of mown meadow and lawn - great for kids who'll love spotting the butterflies and birds! There is a balcony and a deck where you can enjoy the amazing sunsets with a glass of something bubbly and perhaps a fire in the fire pit below. The living room also boasts a large flat screen TV, wood burner, sliding door out to the garden and the sea views. We’ve just added an ethanol fire to the dining room too as we loved the view from that room so much . Bedrooms 1 & 2 each have their own private en-suite with shower, while bedroom 3 the spacious and beautiful, blue, sea facing Empire room has a generous Juliet bathroom (shared with bedroom 4, a large double/twin room). The bathroom has double doors opening out into the garden and an incredible, Moroccan-style copper double shower. The bathroom is, of course, lockable from both sides for privacy, or used from both sides for cosy tete-a-tetes. If you wanted the luxury of a dressing room you could even occupy the Blue Room, and use bedroom 4 as a walk-in-wardrobe. Bedroom 5 is totally standalone. Gothic in style, it features a large, free-standing bath with 'industrial' overhead copper fillers and a modern twist on a beautiful empire chandelier and a door leading out onto the garden. Plan your murder-mystery weekends here! You can make use of the garden-level deck to enjoy a barbeque on the fire bowl, have a glass of something cold or go up on the viewing deck to enjoy the incredible sea views - our favourite is to sit out in the evening and watch the lights of Tenby, Saundersfoot and Milford Haven appear across the bay; it’s eerily beautiful. We have a fully-equipped kitchen with a modular set of tables which can seat 10, a beautiful sea-faring dining room with large round table and ethanol fire burner and a large, comfortable and airy sitting room. We also have a separate laundry room, and a sun room/conservatory at the south end of the house. Guest access We are located at the end of a private drive with abundant parking space. The lane is a long one and it can be bumpy but it's well worth the ride. We are within easy access of the famed golden beaches of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire and the historic gem of a walled town that is Tenby, as well as Saundersfoot and Pendine, and there are vast swathes of unspoiled countryside on your doorstep to explore - including a 20 minute walk to a secluded, almost private Marros beach with its very own shipwreck and ancient petrified forest! Some of the other beaches you can easily drive to, including Amroth, combine pebble and sand, and there are glorious sea shores in all other directions. There is much to explore on the doorstep, including Marros Riding Centre and Morfa Bay adventure centre (do book ahead if this is your kind of thing). Other things to note We own a small family-run business (Chillderness) which is very into low-impact development and tourism. When we acquired Mor and More we felt it was too obtrusive as a large white bungalow, and that it deserved to 'revert' to the land in the agricultural setting in which it sits. It is now more of a barn reversion than a conversion with a nod to Tenby's bright and colourful houses and a touch of Derek Jarman's Dungeness house and garden. We now have a continued wildlife vernacular with wild pheasant and butterflies in the garden but a bright and cosy interior to spend wonderful holidays playing cards and family games, reading and planning excursions for hiking, swimming, riding or paddle boarding.
