The interior has been professionally styled with strong inspirations from the Mid-Century Modern, Minimalism, and Organic Boho aesthetics. Guests have commented that it feels like walking into a magazine. Here's an overview of the home's layout: The house is two stories, but the second floor (which is the main floor) has access to the street, whereas the bottom floor opens to the backyard, which is typical of hillside homes. The main floor's "great room" is open and bright with a combined kitchen-living-dining area. A balcony leads off the dining area with beautiful views, even a sliver of ocean on clear days. The airy kitchen includes a stove top, oven, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, Breville espresso machine, spacious refrigerator, and an oversized island perfect for preparing home-cooked meals. Next to the great room is the office, which is cozy but big enough to host two desks with monitors and desk chairs. This room can be converted to a bedroom with a comfortable, full-sized memory foam floor mattress if needed. There is a full guest bathroom across from the office, which is also the main guest bathroom accessible from the great room. On the other side of the main floor is the master suite, which is the showstopper of the house. The master bathroom boasts a large shower-tub combined wet area with beautiful brass fixtures, and a double-vanity with vessel sinks. There is a walk-in closet which you will have partial access to, including drawers and an area to hang clothes. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed and a private small balcony across from the bed. There is a TV that flips down from the ceiling so you can watch TV, but not block the view of the balcony doors from the bed. Downstairs is the laundry room and the entire, private guest suite. BE WARNED, downstairs has low ceilings, so it is NOT suitable for tall people. The guest suite has a full bathroom with a shower and a kitchenette with running water and a mini fridge. There's also a small dining table and a queen-sized bed with a very large walk-in closet, which you will have partial access to. Through the guest bedroom is a door to the garage, half of which has been converted into a gym. The gym includes an elliptical, squat rack, Marcy Home Gym, free weights, floor to ceiling mirrors, a TV, and a mini homepod. It's a great place to exercise. The entire home is equipped with mini Apple Homepods in each room so you can easily listen to music throughout the home by just asking Siri to play a song. Each of the TVs has a dedicated Apple TV and a full array of apps, which you will need to sign into. The large backyard is nearly 1/3 of an acre and is completely fenced in. There are grapefruit, lime, orange, and fig trees, which you are welcome to harvest. There is also a large brick patio area with a BBQ you can enjoy. Overlooking the brick patio is an empty, old koi pond, which we plan to convert to a hot tub eventually, but for now, please steer clear for your safety. Dogs are welcome with an additional fee, but please be warned that there are coyotes in the neighborhood, so be very careful when walking or letting your small dogs out in the yard. Never let them out unsupervised, especially during the early morning and the evening. We are just a 10-min walk to La Mesa Village, where you will find a quaint historic business district with restaurants, boutiques, bars, and coffee. There is also a trolley station in La Mesa Village, which will take you directly into downtown San Diego. Thanks!*** Guest access There is plenty of street parking in front of the house, and there is also an oversized driveway that can fit three additional cars. We are just a 10-min walk to La Mesa Village, where you will find a quaint historic business district with restaurants, boutiques, and coffee. There is also a trolley station in La Mesa Village, which will take you directly into downtown San Diego. This saves a lot on Uber/taxis. Other things to note There is a street-legal 4-person golf cart on the property that we will allow guests to use on a case-by-case basis depending on their age and driving experience level. Weekly cleaning service is available for $100 per week. Our cleaning professional will launder bed linens and towels, wash dishes, and ensure the home stays spotless during your stay. If you want this service, she comes every Tuesday from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
