This cozy cottage has plenty of bedrooms and a large deck and side yard for everyone to hang out in. The living room has a distinctive “Grandpa’s lake house” feel with wood paneling, vintage decor, an inviting chess table, games shelf, lots of seating, and a dining table. The lake view is a leisurely 10 min walk. The beautiful beaches in New Buffalo and Warren Dunes are just a 10 min drive. Great restaurants, breweries, antique shops and more are all around. Harbor Country welcomes you! The space The Rail House is in the heart of Harbor Country. Less than half a mile from the lake and just across the tracks from tiny and charming downtown Lakeside, with its handful of boutiques and FLAGSHIP Specialty Foods & Fish Market, this cozy cottage has great restaurants, breweries, beaches, wooded trails, and beautiful streets for jogging and biking in all directions. It’s a 10 minute drive to New Buffalo, Sawyer, Three Oaks, and Warren Dunes. Guest access If the children are getting rowdy on a rainy day send ‘em to our garage lounge with a foosball table, a mini pool table, and comfy old furniture. Other things to note We call ourselves the Rail House for a reason, and it’s not just the kitschy railroad art in the living room! The train tracks run right along the property, and you will hear a few trains a day (around 5) and one freight train rumbling by in the night. There is no danger to children or pets because there is a steep ravine between the woods behind the house and the railroad tracks. Trains are audible from many homes in the area.
