Description

Enjoy a piece of Oregon history in our overnight rental at the famous Workers Tavern located in historic Uniontown, Astoria. Nestled under the longest truss bridge in North America, the Meigler Bridge. Workers Tavern was first built near the great Columbia River around 1906 and rebuilt in 1929 to its present glorious state. Now a bar, bar garden and overnight rentals, we're here for you at Workers. We're sure you'll have an experience you'll never forget. *You and all guests must be over 21** The space Less than a block from Astoria’s 5 mile long Riverwalk, marina and numerous historic curiosities, Workers Tavern Airbnbs are the ideal location to explore Astoria by foot or on our very own Riverfront trolley car. Guest access Our studio apartment is furnished in Workers historic style. It has a full kitchen, bath and comfy queen bed. The front entrance is through our backyard bar garden at the rear of the building and on weekends, you can enjoy a cocktail sitting next to our campfire ring along with our regular bar patrons. The kitchen is equipped with a full fridge, stove and has complimentary tea and snacks. And when you wake up in the morning, you can carry your coffee mug right into the bar for as much free coffee as you might need to start your day. Workers Tavern serves breakfast from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. seven days a week. Check in 4:00 p.m. and checkout is around 11 a.m.. **PLEASE CHECK IN AT THE BAR....WORKERS TAVERN anytime after 4:00 p.m.** Other things to note Workers Tavern was first opened around 1906 by Finnish Socialists surrounding the Union Packing Company Seafood Company. In 1921, the Workers Cafe was sold to William and Daisy Still, two Finnish socialists who may have made periodic trips to Canada during prohibition to keep the cafe stocked with beer. William was known as quite the gambler as well and periodically threw memorable Anniversary parties with $100 prizes in the 1930s. Parked in its central location in historic Uniontown, also known as Finntown, it’s been serving the local fishermen and loggers of Astoria for over 100 years. It’s survived the Great Depression, WWI and WWII, Korea, Vietnam, yuppies and hipsters. It’s a true dive bar with stories that go far beyond this Airbnb ad.
