Description

If you long for a quiet retreat away from the crowds and close to nature, Mt McKenzie Raspberry Farm could be for you. Perched on the hills above the North Para River in the south eastern ranges of the Barossa, you will be serenaded with the tweets from native birds, bleets from lambs and mesmerised by stunning sunrises and sunsets. When the riches of local food and wine are needed, wineries, markets, cheese shops, cafe's and restaurants are just a 10 minute drive. The space Mt McKenzie Raspberry Farm is a fully-furnished, cosy log cabin on 10 acres located in the Barossa Valley between Angaston and picturesque Eden Valley. The property has a dam, a small flock of resident sheep and a modest crop of raspberries plants. The Mt McKenzie Raspberry Farm is perched on ‘Mount McKenzie’, located on the eastern edge of the Barossa Valley in the sub-region of Eden Valley famous for its Riesling. Due to the elevation of the property, there are stunning views of surrounding rolling hills, grazing land and neighbouring vineyards. Sunset is not to be missed. The beauty of Mt McKenzie is location. It is situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley but offers the privacy and independence of a rural property. There is an abundance of bird life, from Blue Wrens, Cockatoos, Adelaide Rosella's and migratory Swallows. Our cabin is located high on the banks of the North Para with tree canopy at eye-level. Mobs of Kangaroos are also regular visitors. The region is known as the ‘Big Gum Country’ and our block has five old Red Gum Trees with age exceeding 500 years each. Visitors can enjoy the wine and food experiences that the Barossa Valley region offers, including accessing Henschke cellars at Keyneton, Barossa Cheese Company and Yalumba Wines at Angaston. Saturday mornings are a great opportunity to stock up on local produce at the Angaston Famers Markets. The Collingrove Hill Climb takes place 5 minutes drive from the property. Further advice about the numerous wine/food experiences that can be accessed in the region is available upon request. Mt McKenzie Raspberry Farm is approximately 100 km from the city of Adelaide and the airport. Guests wishing to enjoy the delights of the Barossa Valley will need access to a motor vehicle. Guest access Mt McKenzie Raspberry Farm has a spacious log cabin with 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, modern kitchen, generous living areas inside and out, and undercover parking.
