Charming, private 1BR garden apt

Traditionally-renovated, private 1-BR garden-level apartment in the heart of Harlem, outside the hustle of midtown. Convenient transportation and close to great restaurants. Owners live right upstairs. The space We are still awaiting our NYC OSE registration so for the moment we can only accept 30 night min stays (sorry!!!). On parle français. Govorimo hrvatski. Beautifully renovated, sparkling clean 1BR garden-level apartment that has retained the traditional cozy Harlem brownstone feel, but with a fully equipped, modern eat-in kitchen and new bathroom. Private entry and garden view. Close to 4 subway lines and great restaurants. Bedroom sleeps 2 comfortably; sofa bed in living room can sleep a small child (we do no accept 3 adults, sorry). Access is to entire private apartment with separate entry; small front yard. All linens and towels provided, and washer and dryer in the apartment. There are 5 steps to get in or out of the apartment. There are handrails but no ramps, sorry. Unfortunately the apartment is not wheelchair accessible. Please note that the backyard is NOT available for guests at this time. **Please note that this apartment is in Harlem, a relatively residential area of Manhattan. We are about 20-30 minutes by subway from the main "tourist" attractions around Times Square, etc. If you are looking to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of midtown Manhattan, Harlem is not the place for you. If you are looking for a quieter getaway after a day of sightseeing, however, Harlem is a nice change of pace.** We very much try to make the location as clear as possible so as not to disappoint some guests who may be envisioning a stay just underneath the New Year's ball. While it's very easy to get there, we are NOT in Times Square. We love Harlem and are happy to provide advice on the neighborhood! We have a Harlem guidebook in the apartment - also we live right upstairs and are easily accessible and happy to help with sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. We let our guests take the lead in how much interaction they'd like with us - we're happy to advise and help out as much as preferred, but will also leave you alone if you'd rather explore on your own! Harlem is the ideal location for those wanting to experience NYC without having to stay in the middle of it 24 hours/day - close to everything but yet quiet and with a great neighborhood feel that's hard to find elsewhere in Manhattan. If you're looking for the manic-ness of Times Square, the subway will get you there in about 20 minutes - but again, our home is in a mostly residential (for NYC!!) area, with plenty of restaurants within close walking distance. Guest access Please note that the backyard is not available for guests at this time. All areas of the apartment are 100% dedicated to guests, however, and are fully private. There is a separate entrance for the apartment. Other things to note We are sorry but we cannot accept packages for guests. Please note that we have a 4yo. He’s in bed 3 floors up by 7pm so you’ll never hear him at night but it’s possible you may hear footsteps in the mornings (after 7am) as we get him ready for school. We always do our best to keep the noise down and have not had complaints, but it is a possibility. :)
