Nestled in five acres of terraced land, covered in wild thyme, rosemary and olive trees, you’ll find four uniquely designed holiday cottages with a shared swimming pool bathed in sunshine. La Daby is family owned and run. Designed and built by our parents 40 years ago who fell in the love with the land and the Bandol region which is famous for its rosé wine. Catering for couples, families and group bookings, La Daby is remote enough for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday, but close enough to the local villages and beaches for those with itchy feet who want to explore, sample the freshest, finest foods that Provence has to offer and visit the many vineyards in the area. La Daby's 5 acres of grounds are made up of four separate cottages available to rent; Chenes (6 guests), Lauriers (6 guests), Tour (2 guests), and Lavendes (4 guests) which rents together with a separate adjacent 'Cabanon' with two single beds (2 guests). The cottages share an unheated swimming pool. The cottages can be rented individually or hired together to host a total of 20 guests. La Daby is the perfect place to unwind. Swim, read, and during summer months, live an alfresco lifestyle, eating all meals on the terraces. There are gas BBQs available outside Lavendes, Lauriers and Chenes and a plancha outside Tour, we provide the gas. In the winter indulge in coastal walks and fireside evening meals. We have plenty sunshine, even in October. The Mediterranean is just a 10 minute drive away, and we’re close to the famous Circuit Paul Ricard racetrack and hill-top villages with winding roads and paths. But it is the spirit of La Daby that brings people back year after year. A home from home, with personal touches in each of the four cottages. We have grown-up here, bring our children here and now want to share our unique family space with others. We offer year-round bookings and have free WIFI – even stretching to the pool so you can stream your favourite music as you swim! Children will have a fabulous time in a safe environment with a gated pool, plus we provide a table tennis table with bats for guest use. We have a few baby cots please request at the time of booking. The unheated pool is open from the end of May until the end of September. When playing music please be aware of our neighbours and other guests and turn it off at 22.00 to comply with local laws. *Please note Cabanon has no heating and is therefore not available to rent in Winter months, all the other cottages have heating. Les Lavandes definitely holds the prime position in this Provencal haven. It is closest to the pool, and its terrace is perfect for communal eating. In the shade of the pergola are tables providing space for everyone to congregate. So, whether you like to breakfast alone with the sun appearing above surrounding pine trees, or having long lunches with friends and family in dappled shade, Lavandes is perfect! Inside, there is a good sized sitting room with two built-in sofas on either side of a wood burning fireplace. These can be used as spare beds, or – out of season – for relaxing and reading one of the many books from the excellent library. The galley kitchen has electric and gas hobs as well as a small rotisserie oven, and enough plates and crockery to feed everybody. A large dishwasher takes the strain out of endless washing up. Baskets hang from the eaves which are a must for the local market on Fridays. Lavandes also has a fabulous BBQ attached to the little Cabanon outside, and makes for a great way to cook during the hot summer months. Opposite the kitchen is the bathroom with bath, standing shower, bidet and sink as well as a washing machine. Clothes dry in minutes on line behind the house. The bedroom is light and airy with a king-sized bed and views onto surrounding terraces. Every window and door opening is fitted with mosquito netting, so that one can sleep with doors and windows open during the hot Summer months. The stone clad Cabanon, which is on a terrace below Lavandes, was the original farmer’s store and the only original building on the plot. This was inspiration for all the other houses and is next to an ancient impressive Cyprus. It acts as a separate second bedroom for Les Lavandes, and is great for older kids or grandparents who would like some independence. It comes complete with an ensuite shower and toilet. Guest access All of the land, shared use of the pool if guests are staying in the other three cottages. Other things to note Lavandes sleeps 4 guests, next door is Cabanon, a separate building which sleeps 2 guests. Both cottages have bathrooms.
