Description
Welcoming to families and dogs, the Cottage is built into the hillside of the Mawddach Estuary. It has stunning views across and down the estuary and at high tides the water laps against the terrace wall. The layout of the building is unique, and full of historical features, sloping floors and old staircases giving it character. It is amazingly private, with only one near neighbour. The space The facilities are more comfortable second home than hotel, with mismatched crockery and comfortable furniture. The cottage history as a subdivided building means the kitchen is on the second floor, with an adjoining living room. This is great for cosy nights in and social cooking. Due to its location on the hillside, with the exception of the attic, there is ‘ground floor’ access on each floor. This means that the back door, which opens off the path from the drive, gives direct access into the kitchen. So despite it being on the second floor you don't need to haul anything up the stairs! The heating is eco-friendly, the additional insulation installed when the cottage was renovated means that it can be kept warm using ground source heating. There is underfloor heating and skirting heating throughout. For those who prefer to see a real fire there are two wood burning stoves one in the kitchen and one in the downstairs sitting room. Dogs are welcome, but we ask that you please keep them off the furniture and beds, please inform us on booking if you intend to bring your dogs. There are guest dog tags available, carrying the property details, please return after use.
