Little Trenant Barn, Helford River (creek access)

Wander down to the creek and take Sandy the boat or the kayaks/paddleboard out at high tide. You can explore the waterways or just take the provided chairs and unwind in this stunning area of outstanding natural beauty. Come evening; relax in the beautiful barn, listen to the owls and star gaze through the roof windows from your bed. The space Little Trenant Barn is a beautiful oak framed, open plan, bright space with modern kitchen and bathroom providing comfortable accommodation for up to four people. The bedrooms are open mezzanines at either end of the barn, accessed by steep oak staircases (not suitable for less abled guests - please see photos). Little Trenant offers a well equipped small kitchen with all you need for cooking your meals. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and a good spacious shower. 30 seconds down the path you will find the top of Polwheveral creek which connects to the Helford river - launch a kayak or a paddle board (one small rowing boat, two kayaks aand large paddle board all available for guests to use), enjoy a quick swim (all tide dependent of course) or take a deck chair and relax at the riverside and enjoy these incredible surroundings and the wildlife native to the Helford river. To name some of this wildlife- in this past year we have been watching nesting Geese and Swans, Little Egrets, Curlews, Kingfishers and even had two Otter sightings. Guest access Little Trenant is an extension of our cottage, Trenant, there is an interior door but this will be locked from both sides. Guests will have total privacy with their own parking space and access through your own exterior door. I hope to be available to greet you and show you the space and then leave you to enjoy your holiday, but always happy to answer questions, advise on things to visit etc. From this location tucked away in the secluded hamlet at the top of Polwheveral Creek, follow the narrow lane for half a mile for some excellent food, real ale and a very friendly welcome at the Trengilly Wartha Inn. A slightly longer walk will reach the shops of Constantine village. A perfect location to jump in the car and explore Cornwall further with the Lizard on the doorstep and many of Cornwalls top attractions all within an hours drive. There are buses from Constantine to both Falmouth and Helston. Parking is limited in Polwheveral, the lanes are very narrow not allowing much space for pulling off the road! You will have one parking space next to Little Trenant, in the driveway just off the lane.
