Ajna - The Blue Room, Shanti - Bose Compound
Ajna - The Blue Room, Shanti - Bose Compound
Description
Peace House's Blue room, along with the other houses in Bose Compound, was built in the 1930s by my great grandfather, Aurobindo Bose, a devotee of Ramana Maharishi. Bose Compound is a 2min walk away from Ramana Ashram where one can also begin the climb up Arunachala. We're located on the Girivalam road with Nilgiris, small shops & eateries close by. It's an old place that's very open to nature-- Those looking for a swanky modern set up will be disappointed! The space The Blue room is rushed away at the back of the house Shanti or Peace, with it's own entrance. There is a small kitchen with the basics and a fridge, as well as thick mud walls which keep it very cool, even in summers. It's quiet and peaceful, and in that sense lives up to it's name. The garden is full of trees with many birds and animals who visit from time to time. Langurs and peacocks passing through the garden is a common sight. What is also common here is the garden life, and a healthy biosphere means little creatures might get in from time to time, all harmless. Please keep the door closed as much s possible and be patient with them, they want to get back outside as much as you want them too! IF you are afraid of even the idea of a gecko or frog then please consider staying at a home that suits you better.
