DINE at DUSK with the KANGAROOS: Kangaroo Valley Homestead has extraordinary appeal that enables guests to enjoy outdoor dining whilst watching native and wild Kangaroos roam the property. A truly unique Australian experience. Kangaroos visit the property daily but are found in larger numbers from December to April when they visit the property in search of food and water. Our family's of kangaroos are wild and there is no guarantee they will visit during your stay but we do hope you have the pleasure of meeting the locals. (Seasonal) OUTDOOR STONE BATHS: The outdoor stone baths are the epitome of pure indulgence. Bathe under the stars by the log fire whilst soaking in the sights and sounds of the Australian bush. GALAH BAR and BILLIARDS ROOM: The full size bar and billiards room is the perfect place for entertaining and the space has been lovingly created from a fallen Jarrah tree on the property. Test your skills on the pool table, enjoy a wine at the bar or simply sit back, relax and watch TV. OASIS SWIMMING POOL: The resort style pool and waterfall built from Toodyay & Karratha stone is guaranteed to provide hours of fun and relaxation for all ages. LOCAL DINNING EXPERIENCES: The Flackyard at Lake Leschenaultia. The Flackyard offers soulful degustation dining experiences created with Australian native ingredients entwined with authentic local produce and regional appreciation. The Standard Gauge is a humble restaurant hidden away in Chidlow, by Michelin Star Chef Alan Wise, serving ever changing 7 course menu of simple, seasonal and most importantly delicious dishes. Advanced bookings recommended due to wait list. Historic Parkerville Tavern. Established in 1902, the Parkerville Tavern is a charming family pub and restaurant in the heart of the Perth Hills. Steeped in history, the double storey federation style pub is a local favourite. LUXURIOUS DAY SPA & MASSAGE PACKAGES: Located 10 minutes drive from the Homestead, the award winning Amaroo Day Spa & Retreat offers a wide variety of treatments including soothing massages, cleansing facials, body scrubs and wraps or a bespoke spa package designed just for you. Enquire at time of booking. SHORT STREET KITCHEN WORKSHOPS: Short Street Kitchen is located about 5 minutes drive from the Homestead and is run by mother and daughter team, Robyn & Jess. Both are passionate about health and have a special interest in gut health and the role a wholefood plant based diet plays in optimising it. Join Robyn & Jess for one of their many workshops at Short Street Kitchen. THREE SEPARATE ENTERTAINING AREAS: The Homestead has three separate entertaining areas at one end with five large bedrooms at the other. This is a home that flows easily and will provide guests with space whilst also offering privacy and separation. FARMHOUSE KITCHEN: The nominated chef for the evening wont be disappointed with the kitchen facilities. Whether they are creating in the well equipped kitchen or cooking on the outdoor BBQ, you will have tranquil views of the towering native gum trees. CAMP FIRE: At night sit around the camp fire, toast marshmallows or bring your torches and search for Possums in the trees and Bandicoots foraging in the garden. Wood is supplied for indoor fireplace. We welcome you to collect dead wood from the property or bring your own supply for the super sized outdoor fire pit . Seasonal, due to Shire of Mundaring prescribed burn times. MAIN BEDROOM / JARRAH SUITE & ENSUITE: The master bedroom is furnished with a luxurious Super King size bed and tailored with hotel quality linen. Relax in bed whilst watching TV/Netflix or indulge in an antique style claw foot bath. BEDROOMS 2, 3 & 4 All bedrooms are beautifully furnished with Queen size beds, antique style furnishings and hotel quality linen. Watch TV/Netflix in bedroom 3. BEDROOM 5: Bedroom 5 is furnished with a King size bed and TV/Netflix. BATHROOM: The main bathroom is federation styled with wooden vanity, shower and spa bath. ECO-FRIENDLY: Amidst the beautiful Australian bush landscape, this luxury Homestead operates imperfectly Eco-friendly in dedication to environmental and economic sustainability. The Homestead looks to preserve and share in the regions environmental conservation strategies by utilising alternative energy sources to provide guests with all the comforts of home without harming the planet. The Homestead utilises 50 solar panels to provide power and a 217,000 litre water tank provides pure rain water. Kangaroo Valley Homestead is committed to protecting the environment and this is reflective in the way the Homestead operates. GUEST ACCESS: Guests access the property via a lock box located at the front door. Guests have exclusive access to the entire property except garage, farm-shed and office. OTHER THINGS to NOTE: The two outdoor fire pits can only be utilised during Shire of Mundaring prescribed burn times only. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the entire Homestead and five acres of native bush and gardens. No access is allowed to the Homestead shed, garage and office.
