Set in a beautiful location in the heart of rural Perthshire, Hatton Lodge is the ideal escape for a small family or two couples who want to spend time together in a superb countryside location. Accessed via a rough track, this detached lodge is nestled within the owner’s well-kept 6 acre grounds, and boasts super views of the surrounding landscape. The front of the lodge offers raised decking and a patio overlooking a small lake, perfect for al fresco dining or just relaxing with a glass of wine. Observe the range of wildlife in the grounds, with regular visitors of fallow deer, red squirrels, pheasants and a family of ducks who live on the lake. For those who enjoy walking or cycling, there are numerous established public footpaths and walking routes that lead from the grounds out into the countryside. There is much to do in the surrounding area for all ages; the Loch of the Lowes Nature Reserve is close by and has a children’s hide and visitors centre. The property is located just a short drive from Atholl Memorial Fountain and Dunkeld Cathedral. Nearby is Dunkeld, where there is a good selection of independent shops, galleries, deli cafés and restaurants, and is a great place to spend an evening to enjoy the lively arts and music scene. Next to Dunkeld is Birnam, one of the best preserved historic towns in Scotland, and home to the Beatrix Potter exhibition. This area is known as Big Tree Country and the famous Birnam Oak, one of the oldest trees in the area, can be seen while enjoying a walk along the River Tay. If you would like to explore further afield, Dunkeld railway station has free parking and provides easy access to Edinburgh, Perth, Aviemore and Inverness. Hatton Lodge has been thoughtfully furnished and equipped with everything you will need for an enjoyable holiday. On the ground floor the open plan kitchen/dining area has a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, and the dining area will comfortably seat four people around the table. The property is welcoming with a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom and family bathroom. The comfortable living room is well-presented and situated on the first floor. Dogs are welcome at Hatton Lodge, but are asked to be kept on the lead when outside of the lodge as ducks and chickens roam freely in the grounds. By prior arrangement with the owner you can also bring your horse with you as there are extensive bridal paths in the area. Beach 35 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
