Lac Dam Retreat

Our four season cottage is on a beautiful lake in Val des Monts, Quebec, just 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa. Twenty minutes from Edelweiss, Mont Cascade and Vorlage ski hills as well as to P17 Gatineau Park. Nakkertok trails are ten minutes away. The wooded area offers privacy and swimming off the end of the dock is deep and weed-free. There is plenty of room for a large family. Large property with three outdoor fire pits. Wood stove inside. Fully equipped kitchen. CITQ 307605 The space For winter, there are two adult and two child-sized snowshoes, toboggans, firewood. We have four kayaks and a canoe and lots of floaty toys so that you can explore the lake and maybe even the island with the jumping rock. The path down the hill to the lake has a fire pit for star gazing and marshmallow roasting. Trees surround you and provide lots of privacy. Up at the cottage, there is plenty of deck and sunny spots to enjoy a barbecue and cocktail. There are woods for exploring - keep an eye out for the turkeys and deer. Inside, there are four good sized bedrooms. The wood stove is lovely on a chilly day. The kitchen is fully equipped. Downstairs has a wet bar and a retro entertainment system (lots of VHS tapes for the kids and adults). We've got an assortment of toys and games for rainy days. Other things to note A few important things we ask: Out of respect for the neighbours, please no outdoor noise after 11pm. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake. Please always check and adhere to any municipal fire ban. We have occasional dog and cat visitors. There is no public boat launch. If we have a motor boat in, it is not part of the rental. In snowy months you will need winter tires. Composting and recycling are required as part of a municipal by-law. The tap water is good for drinking, and we have lots of glasses and cups (including unbreakable ones for outdoors). No need to bring water or plastic cups.
