Unique stay at the Rice paddies

The space Singasari-Kokokan is situated in authentic Balinese surroundings of Kaliasem village, detached in the middle of rice paddies and coconut tree gardens. However it is not remotely placed, beach, shops and restaurants –exclusive to basic and everything in between- are located at walking and cycling distance. Singasari-Kokokan consists of 3 pile bungalows inspired on the original rice lumbung, besides a minimalist designed house. A daring combination of Balinese and modern style. The bungalows have a very large bathroom, partly open air with on the first floor the bedroom. The bungalows have plenty of space and are thoughtfully decorated without any concession to comfort. The ground floor of the modern building is entirely open air including the kitchen with views on the garden and surrounding fields. Diving, Snorkling & Dolfins Lovina Reef Lovina reef is located a few 100 metres from the shore and this is a typical snorkling spot. All generally known reef fish can be spotted; parrot, trumpet, snapper etc etc. Because of tourism and fishing the reef is affected negatively, however in cooperation with WWF new coral is cultivated to succesfully renovate or reconstruct the reef. A dolfin trip is often combined with snorkling at Lovina reef. Dolfins Early in the morning a group of dolfins passes Lovina beach. This has become a touristic attraction. With small motor boats of local fisherman the dolphins are approached. Between 5:30 and 6:00 in the morning the boats leave the beach Menjangan island Menjangan island at the western end of Bali is part of Bali Barat National Park and therefore a protected uninhibited area. It is the best place for snorkling and diving at several different locations around the island. Boot trips take 30 minutes and can only be booked in advance at Spice Dive or other bookers in Jalan Bina Ria (dolfin statue). Tulamben This is a beach dive to the second world war Liberty wrack located east of Singaraja. The ships position is close to the coast and its length is about 100 meters. The hull is completely covered with corals, buts some details as the bowcannon are still clearly visible. Visibility is not perfect, but the many fishes make up for the poor visibility. Sendang A classical reef diving spot at 40 km west of Lovina. This reef has less traces of damage due to fishing and therefore the coral is still diverse, however only the small kinds of fish can be seen here. Fishing Fishing at Lovina reef is more a relaxing than a spectacular event. With a piece of bamboo you drop the fishing line over your thumb in the water until you feel the fish nibbling your bait. Then it comes to the right timing and arm movement to make a good catch. Sailing Although the sea at the North coast is very calm and there isn’t so much wind as in the South coast, you can hire a typical fishing boat to sail in the old fashioned manner. Although it is not commenly advertised it is certainly possible to arrange a sailing trip.
